The NXT Tour (...obtained from a thicket last Fall) was close to the ProV-1x in distance, and better than the rest. Haven't found a Tour-S to compare. ;-) I had won a box of the ProV-1x and was not sure about them until I tried one. Whoa. I could go either way based on the longer clubs. Watching the ProV-1x in flight was just such a joy. Tri-speeds where my replacement for NXT, but I can move on, now. Since I need to find turf to get my short game back in shape (snowing yet again today in WI), I don't have a green to tee test to say which is better overall, yet. The important part is, I still have the same balls to test again. When I started 3 years ago and went to a ball fitting, the 2x2 ProV and 1x samples were gone by the 4th hole my next time out.

You can buy the Diamana Blue from Titleist for your 910. Unfortunately, the cost of the shaft and the resale value of the 910 come close enough to the new 913 out of the box. Since it is a real deal, it isn't cheap. Not sure of the cost of the Bassara, but it will tend to a higher loft than the Ihana that may help you. Have fun on the demo days.

Thanks much for your input Don O. Especially when you thought I was wright on the edge of needing a R flex shaft. Also, the launch angle of the shaft would make a difference since I have trouble getting the ball up high enough, hence the reason for my 12* setting. Anything much under a 12* driver, and I only get line drives off the "T" I've thought if I did go with a 913, I'd probably get the 12* head, since I seldon go lower than that. We are both wright there on most everything. I an 64 yrs. now, and our fairways here in Southwest Missouri are pretty hard also. I have my 10.5* 910D2 set at 12* and .75* upright (B3 setting) I've been hitting the NXT S ball and the ball flight seems good. I have played a couple of rounds with the Wil Duo ball and I do get a little more distance with it in this colder weather since it is a very soft ball, (40 compression) but I believe the softer ball will hurt me when the weather warms up this spring & summer. I'm hoping I can find out more about what shaft I should be playing at the Demo Days next month, but if I do need a different shaft, I don't believe Titlest will sell me a shaft only, and I don't want to use an after market shaft. Also, a new 913 with a different shaft would have to be a lot better, since I just bought my 910 in Oct. and it would be hard to justify another $400 + for another driver. I haven't tried the new Pro V's yet. I'd like to know how they compare to the NXT's. Is the New ProV 1x your favorite ball? Thanks again for all your help Don. I was recently fitted for the 913 d2 w/ diamana blue 62 stiff shaft. My swing speed is in the 95-100 range. I'm averaging 260 with a slight fade. Good distance even on miss hits. I would definitely get fitted to find what shaft works best for you. Good luck!

Even though I'm 62, I have been working hard in the off season and my driver speed last year was 78-82 with an A-flex G15 12 degree. It was 85-86 when the 913s were introduced, and 88-89 in late February. Part is swing mechanics (casting is way better and no more chicken wings for the dog...) and part is core conditioning. I escaped Wisconsin and played on some farily hard ground in Charleston, SC and tested the new ProV-1x, so the total distance may change when the ball lands and plugs in 3 weeks if the courses open in WI. The ProV-1x on the hard ground may have rolled out further due to the perfect conditions for its angle of descent. It was easily 10-20 yards longer than I was getting with my old favorite (Tri-Speed). There are multiple factors on why my numbers are higher than yours.

At 82-85, you are at the cusp of looking at a regular shaft. You may also need to optimize the loft on your club. I'm using 11.25 on a 10.5 degree D2 and the angle appears to be pretty good. You would need to check launch angle and spin characteristics to determine if another shaft/stiffness will suit your drives better.

Good point. My swing dictates a higher launch angle, and although I had given some thought to the white, the blue seems to be the better choice.

Hitting into a screen with a trackman at a big box outlet, the Blueboard for me brought the spin down from 3000 to 2400 over the Bassara and was about 3-5 yards longer - in the 235-240 range with a 89 mph swing and on center contact. Thanks for this post Carman S. I'm really interested in replys you get since I'm kind of in the same boat. We have a "Demo Days" here in May, and I'm planning on going to find out if I'm using the wright shaft in my 910 D2, and am concidering a new 913 D2. I now have the Diamana 'Ilima 61 (58gram) shaft in A Flex (senior flex). My swing speed is about 85mph and I'm averageing about 200yds. on good hits. (195 - 205yds). The Titleist dealer I bought my driver from just ask what shaft I was using in my previous driver, and he sold me the closest thing Titleist had on their standard choice list. I'm quite upset about that since I didn't know that he had a fitting room, and he didn't bother to tell me. Guess he just wanted to sell me a driver, and get me out the door. I'm now wondering if I should be hitting a R Flex, or maybe a lighter/heavier shaft. I'm hoping the Titleist Rep. at the "Demo Days" can tell me what I really need.
