Does anyone have a problem with the paint on the driver not holding up to normal use?

    Richard,

If you are seeing any paint chipping or something changing the finish, aside from normal wear and tear, please contact us at 1-888-TITLEIST so we can assist.

    Thank you,

I purchased a 913 D2 on 4/24/13.  A week ago I noticed the paint chipping off on the crown, right at the edge of the faceplate towards the toe.  I have used the driver only two times on a course and once at the driving range.  I know I will sky a tee shot every once in awhile but not enough to cause that paint chipping.  I have not had that problem with my last two drivers.   I took it back to the dealer who replaced the head no charge.  The dealer said that is normal wear and tear, I don't agree.

    Alex,

That certainly is not normal wear and tear.  If that ever happens, please take to your retailer (like you did) and they can setup a warranty inspection of the club through our Warranty and Repairs Department.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

Glad the golf shop was able to accommodate promptly.

I have been playing a 913 D3 for 12 rounds and it's by far the best driver I have played.  I haven't noticed anything on the crown, but I don't tee it very high so I never hit the crown, however I have noticed silver dots to the club face from impact in the center starting to show through the black.  I do have a fast swing so that may have something to do with it too.

My driver's paint is also chipping where the crown meets the face. I bought my driver on ebay though, is there anything I can do about it.

The warranty is two years from date of original purchase. You can have a local Titleist account holder call Titleist with the serial number and if the club falls within this time period, it can be submitted for a warranty evaluation regardless if you're a secondary owner. As the owner of a pre-owned club, you also have to take into consideration whether the chipping is too minor to be considered outside the category of ordinary wear. Same thing goes for any signs of hits not on the face or the club being in a condition that shows it was kept in the bag without a headcover.

Thanks for the quick response.  I took my driver back to Roger Dunn.  They exchanged the head.  The manager said they would sell it as a demo with the paint chips.  I think it should be warranty.  I am very happy with my 913 D2.  My previous driver was an R11s.  The main reason for changing is the feel at impact.
