Have you completed your testing and are the KBS C-Taper Lite shafts available to order in the 714 AP2's? How about the KBS C-Taper (non-Lite)?
Cath D.Carlsbad, CA
The C Taper Lites, the PX 95, the TourV, and some of the heavier Recoils have not completed testing yet.
The standard weight C Tapers are offered.

Hi Cathi
I have tried to order a set of 714 AP2s from a number of your retailer web sites (Golfsmith, Edwin Watts, Etc) but they only allow you to select DG S300 shafts and no other options.
Please advise
Thanks
Des
Large retail shops often do not allow you to customize an order unless you go into an actual store. You can also order through your local Golf course pro shop.

Hi Cathi:
I ordered my AP2 714 from the Plaza Golf in Torrance, CA last week and was told that my clubs would be ready to pick up today, Nov 8th. My irons are equipped with Project X Pxi 5.5 shaft. You know with these new clubs, I want to have them in my hands right away but when I tried to make an arrangement to pick them up from the store (not ship to my house because I want to test the loft and lie with my professional club fitter at the store) today, I was told that the shaft I ordered for my AP2 is out of stock and my irons won't get shipped until 11/25th. Is it true? I found that it's odd that Titleist would not stock enough shaft listed on the custom shop and catalog available for the custom order for the loyal Titlesit customers like me. At least, I wish Titleist Rep who my clubfitte was talking to when he placed the order for me would have said something to him about the availablility of the shaft and delivery date. My guy had to call Titleist to get this latest update instead of Titleist calling him to advise him of the out of stock situation. I sold my old AP2 irons set earlier this week in anticipation of my new irons delivery and now have to borrow a set of clubs to compete in the tournament this weekend.
Sorry to trouble you. I am a true beleiver of Titleist and had been a loyal customers of your company for over 20 years. This experience is a little bit disappointing

Cathi Are the C-Tapers R+ shafts available for AP2 714 irons? Thanks Ryan
Can Golfsmith order the shafts as an "OFF MENU" shaft?
Thanks,
Hi, They can order "off menu" shafts, but it is a longer process due to the fact that it is not part of their standard ordering system.
Gilbert R
I see that the C Taper Lites have been approved for off menu orders; any further word on the Recoil shafts? Thank you in advance.
Hi Gilbert, We are not offering the Recoil shafts at this time. I believe, they are only being offered as "aftermarket" shafts through their shaft retailers.

Des,
I don't want to interfere, but you may want to email the local store in the city you are visiting of one of the big chains directly. Dick's, Golf Galaxy, Golf Town all have local stores in cities across the U.S. They will likely be able to process a custom order for you via email.

Hi Des, You will be able to get a set with the NS pro 950 if you are here for at least a week and the order is placed early in your stay. It also depends on where you will be staying as our clubs ship from Carlsbad, CA. I will also forward your email to our South African rep to contact you to see what can be done in South Africa. You should not have to purchase a set and reshaft.
As far as C Taper Lite shafts, they are still testing them. Please note, if they do pass the shaft testing protocol, they will also build several swingweights light as will the NS pro 950's.
Hal SGrand Island, NE
How long before it is known if the c Taper lite passes testing and could you get to D-3 with the cord grip?
Hi Hal, We have just been informed that the C Taper Lite has passed inspection. It is not part of our custom matrix and will be offered as a "off menu" shaft. Please note that that means we will order it, but we ask that you don't cancel or make any changes to the order once it has been placed. The R flex will build about 2 swingweights lighter than standard and the S and X will build 1 swingweight lighter. If it is a TV cord, it will also build light, but if it is a multi compound, it will add about 1 swingweight. So depending on flex and which cord grip, we will be able to build between D0 and D3.

Hi Cathi, it's good to hear that C Taper Lite has passed the inspection and is part of your custom matrix! I'm not sure if you will know the answer to this question, but I was fitted for 714 AP2's with XP 95 S with stock grip. I was really interested in the C-Taper Lites after reading some reviews. Would you be able to tell me if XP 95 S is comparable to the C-Taper Lite S with stock grip or multi compound? Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the info Cathi. I was wondering if the KBS Tour 90 is also off the shelf or this is part of your custom matrix? Thank you.
Cameron DNewport, RI
Tae,
The KBS Tour 90 won't be an option that we can order.

Hi Tae, We just got word that the KBS 90's have passed our shaft testing protocols. They will not be on the custom matrix, but we will be able to order them as an "off menu" shaft. We ask that you don't cancel or change an "off menu" shaft order once it has been placed.
Thank you for the update Cathi. Unfortunately, I placed an order last week Friday with the C-Taper Lites because I couldn't wait to get these clubs! :) Hopefully the C-Taper Lites will work out!

I just got my 714 AP2s today with the KBS C Taper Lite Stiff and hit with them at the range. You're going to love them!
Edward, can you please tell me how long it took for you to receive your clubs after placing the order? Thanks.

What is the upcharge for these shafts?

I ordered my AP2 set with the KBS C-taper Lite in early November and got word from my pro that the set was built last week and should have shipped this Friday. So, it can take awhile.
Adam HMinneapolis, MN
Great to hear!! Will be placing my order soon then. Thanks.
I will be putting in an AP2 order with the KBS Tour 90 shafts. What is the up-charge for these shafts per club?
We don't have MSRP pricing for upcharge shafts, so we would recommend checking with more than one pro shop to get comparative pricing.

Does anyone know if the flexes on the KBS C-Taper Lites will be true to form in regards to the general Regular, Stiff, X etc? I'm wondering if, due to the lighter weight, the Stiff will actually be more of a Regular + or a true Stiff. I currently play 735-CM with TT DG S300 and I am wondering how the KBS C-Taper Lite will compare. Thanks.
Drew,
The C-Taper Lite S-flex is 2 full flexes softer in butt frequency than S-300. Even the C-Taper Lite X-flex is at least 1 full flex softer than S-300. C-Taper Lite also has a somewhat lower kick point than S-300, so it will fly higher and spin more. If you are looking for DG performance from KBS, he should try normal C-Taper.
Thanks Cameron! Exactly the information I was looking for, which has now led me to another question.
Do you know how the C-Taper Lite compared to the PXi 5.5? I see on the custom shaft chart that the PXi 5.5 was a Mid/Mid but am wondering where the C-Taper Lite would chart.
I'm playing DG S300 now, but am looking for something a bit higher launching and lower weight. The C-Taper Lite and PXi seem to be an ideal match for what I'm looking.
Also, has the PX 95 Flighted been tested? It could be a possibility for me as well, but I've never played a Flighted shaft before and have read mixed reviews.
Thanks TT!
Hi - I was looking for a similar setup. I went through a fitting and the Nippon NS Pro 97 Gram shaft (stiff) with D2 swing weight proved to be the best. The combination provided a softer feel, mid launch, and lower spin rate which translated into more distance.
Hope this helps
Hey Drew,
The C-Taper Lite is a mid/low launch and spin in the range of Modus 3 Tour 120 with a different feel. Club swingweight is closer to normal than other KBS shaft, but still a notch lighter. The PXi is a mid launch and spin at same weight as C-Taper Lite. Slightly softer tip than C-Taper lite yields a lower kick point, thus the more mid launch angle. From what you are looking for, the PXi may be the better choice.
The PX 95 Flighted has not been approved.
Hope this helps!
