What is the difference between the AP2/ 712 and the AP2/ 714 irons? I understand they are both forged.
I think I may have discovered the answer to my own question, maybe. I was in the Golfsmith store yesterday in Raleigh where they had a set of each. It appears that the 714s have a satin finish on the face where the 712s have a chrome finish. Also, the coloring on the back of the club is different. Does anyone know if these are the only differences?

Joe,
There were a few changes that we made. One change was to lower the CG in the longer irons (3-5 iron) and raise the CG in the shorter irons (6-W). This helps to promote better more carry distance and better green stopping ability with your longer irons, while promoting a more penetrating ball flight with your shorter irons. We have also strengthened the lofts in the short irons by 1 degree. We have improved the sole design with a pre-worn leading edge for better turf interaction.
Feel free to contact us at 1-888-TITLEIST with any other questions you may have.

Cameron,
If I give you the serial # of my new AP2's, can you get the specs of the clubs? I just want to make sure that they were built to the specifications that I asked for. In the old days, you used to send a certificate of authenticity with all Titleist clubs that showed what the specs were.
I just want to be able to compare the statistics of my previous irons.
thanks
Chris
Chris,
Give us a call at 1-888-TITLEIST and we can check the serial #.
