AP2 shafts

Considering all stiff flex, what's different about the following three shafts. TT DG S300 (Std), KBS, projectx 6.0. A fitter at a retail store told me the DG S300 are meant to keep the ball flight lower. The KBS would create a higher ball flight. He didn't say anything about the proj x 6.0. Anyone with knowledge please help as I am trying to make. My final decision soon. Cathi or Cameron I would like to hear the manufacturers thoughts as well since you chose the s300 as the standard shaft. Any plusses or minuses to the three in questio? Thanks

I've had all 3 shafts in AP2's and yes dynamic gold s300 will keep flight/spin a little lower.  Project x 6.0 is going to be a little stiffer as they are closer to a S+, 5.5 are more of a standard Stiff, higher flight but can feel a bit harsh if not hit pure.   KBS Tour stiff is working really well for me, a higher and flatter flight with really good feel.  Very impressed so far.

You could always soft-step a Project X 6.0 to soften it up a bit.

It's all about what feels best in your hands and what  gives you the desired flight.

As far as flex goes , be sure to compare apples to apples in the three brands.

DG S300 = 5.8

KBS tour Stiff= 6.0. KBS c-Taper S =6.2

Project X 6.0= 6.5

I would compare Project X 5.5. ( flex is 6.0 on rifle scale) to DG S300(5.8) and KBS Tour Stiff(6.0)

see which shaft feels the best then go to the monitor and see if the numbers match up to the feel. You can then adjust the flex to get the spin rates where you want.

I have two questions regarding the fitting.  (1)  Is he/she a certified fitter. (2) Did you try all the shafts that Titleist offers because they offer many options and I would exercise all of them.  Spend as much time as possible in that simulator.  If you do not feel comfortable with the fitter go to another one.  Remember this is you money and do not be pressured into making a quick decision.

Definitely hit them side by side if you can. Bonus if you can actually get on a launch monitor with them. I had been playing DG S-300 in my 710 AP2s since they came out and after going through a fitting on a launch monitor I found that KBS C-Taper Lites in Stiff actually give me a lower more penetrating flight and better numbers overall. Depending on your swing tempo your results with a certain shaft will be different than someone else with the exact same shaft.

I tried the tt dg s-300 and KBS i preferred the s-300 but i like a lower flight. definitely try them all see which one fits you best
