wedges

T T Members,

A little help here, What is the difference between S grind and F grind in the Vokey design wedges?

Hi John,

The S grind is a full sole grind with a trailing edge ribbon.  It is a mid bounce option for a slider/neutral type swing.  The F grind is a full sole grind offering mid to high bounce, more optimal for a digger.

Hope this helps,

Bubba

Bubba,

I have a question regarding custom ordering a SM5 wedge.  I am what I would call a digger with just about all of my irons and am looking for a mid bounce wedge.  You say that the F grind is more optimal for the digger and according to the SM5 info, it is also good for all types of conditions.  What I think that I'm looking for is a 54.10 mid bounce but in the F grind which is not available according to the matrix.  I know that I could get the 54 in the F grind but as a 14 degree and I don't want that much bounce. So, is it possible to special order a SM5, 54.10 in the F grind and if yes, how would I do it?  Thanks for your help.

Mark,

The F grind is indeed a good option for all swing types.  We do not offer a 54.10 in the F grind, only the S and M grind come with 10 degrees of bounce.  If you are looking to use your 54 for full shots and pitches that require a square face, the S grind would be ideal.  If you are looking to open the club face and hit different types of short shots, as well as full shots, the M grind would be a good option.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

Bubba,

Thanks for the info.  I'll check out the S grind.
