I currently game the Titleist AP2 712 3-PW.  I recently went to a fitter because my yardage gaps were inconsistent throughout my set.  The suggestion I received was to bend some of the irons to add loft.  My question, though, is what happens to the face angle?  Will the irons look open/closed or offset at address?  Will bending the irons change the loft or the effective loft?

    Thanks for any clarifications provided.

With all due respect to your question, check with the fitter who tweeked you clubs for you.  I am sure he will also be able to give you an explanation to what happens to the face angle when loft is added.  Give him a call.

If the lie angle is proper, the irons should sit square and the look at address should be unchanged.  Changing the loft will affect the bounce of the club and as you add loft, you will add bounce and vice versa.  I am going to guess that he/she preferred that you add loft to certain clubs to add bounce rather than strengthen the loft of clubs and decrease bounce.  Or that ball flight would be more optimal with adding loft.  Those are questions you might want to ask when you talk to your fitter.
