You may already know all that I'm going to tell you, but just in case...

On the Titleist webpage, if you go to the Golf Clubs menu, under it is a heading for Club Fitting and Trial and under that heading is Fitting Locations.  Select Fitting Location and enter your zip code and a list of fitters in your area will be displayed (7 in the Joneboro area) on a map of the area.  You may already be familiar with the listed fitters, or at least some of them, but they can probably answer all your questions. Maybe Cathi can jump in a give you a recommendation on one of the fitters listed (or another fitter).

Also under the Golf Club menu is a heading for Custom Clubs with a selection for Custom Options.  The Custom Options selection opens another browser tab with a booklet outlining all of the available shafts and grips for Titleist woods & fairways, hybrids and irons with their specs.  It's a great resource that I always refer to prior to any new fitting and purchase.  Titleist's new 915 series drivers should start hitting the market in November.  If you do use an on-line retailer, make sure they are an authorized Titleist dealer, especially if they are not one of the big chains like Golfsmith or PGA Superstore.

Hello Herman; I'm not too far from you here in Springfield, Mo. and it's hard to find good fitters in our areas, but maybe Cathi at Team Titleist can weigh in and let you know the best fitters in your area. I would think Little Rock would be a great place to find a good fitter, although it's around 140mi. from you. If Cathi doesn't weigh in here you can contact her at TT and she can tell you who to see. Getting a good Titleist fitter is your best move in finding exactly what clubs, shafts, lie, etc. that you need. It will be well worth the time and travel to see a Titleist fitter, and you'll know that what he/she recommends will be exactly what you need. One thing I can tell you is that you can't go wrong with Titleist. Titleist makes the best equipment on the market, and the support that you'll get from Titleist is second to none. No one else even comes close. Once you go to Titleist, you'll never go back to any other. You must be a very good player so why not be playing the best. I think you'll be surprised at how much your game will improve with Titleist equipment. Just be sure to see a good Titleist fitter.

I would look at the AP2 and yes in general a lighter shaft may be beneficial to an older player. The fitter will be your best resource for figuring out the best equipment for you.

If you get fitted properly, you will get a complete spec sheet for the clubs you were fitted for. This will include loft adjustments, lie adjustments and shaft selection. Any authorized Titleist retailer can order you clubs to your specs. As long as there are no shaft upcharges, there is no extra charge to get the loft and lie ordered to the fitted specs. yes, the lie can be adjusted after you get them, but I would much rather have the factory make this adjustment as they do it all the time and have exatly the right equipment to do it. Titleist will also stand behind any adjustments that are made at the factory.

From your message we sound remarkably alike. First - I checked your zip code and there are Titleist fitters in the area. If there is not one at the club where you play then talk with the pro at the country clubs in town. I'm sure that they would be happy to do a fitting. The other idea is that since this season is nearly over I'd recommend waiting until spring when the demo days are scheduled. You can try the various 2015 clubs and make a decision. The Titleist rep may agree to do a private fitting for you.

I missed the demo day at our club this year and our pro set up a private fitting for me with the Titleist Rep and combined it with a lesson. I was playing clubs with standard lie and regular graphite shafts. I was fitted with .5 shorter and 2 degrees flat with the Titleist 95 gram lightweight regular steel shafts. I chose the AP2's and ordered 5 - GW. I also had my 56 degree Vokey flattened 2 degrees. I'm 65 and just like the feel of the forged blades. The only non-Titleist club in my bag is a TM R1 driver.

One last thought - buy from an authorized dealer in your area. I don't recommend buying on-line and if someone on-line offers you a great price they may be counterfeit.
