  1. What is the difference between the RIP Phenom Driver and Fairway shafts? To be more specific if I lengthened my 80g Rip Phenom fairway shaft using an extension, would it offer a similar performance to the driver shaft and would it be suitable for use in my driver?

    Hi David,

    Thanks for the question.

There is no difference between "driver" and "fairway shafts". For example, a RIP 80 shaft is used in both a driver and FWY, it may just be tipped or cut to different lengths.

You would have to add quite a bit of length to your 3w shaft if you wanted to use it as a driver shaft. As well, your 3w RIP is likely tipped more than the Std. tipping for a driver shaft. In all, this shaft will not perform similar to a RIP 80 ordered directly from us as a driver shaft.

    Hope this helps.
