hello i am being fit this sunday for a new 915 driver and ive only tried the d2 so far and it seems a little big in the back of the driver. Would the d3 be a better fit even though it is a little smaller and is it any less forgiving. my miss also tends to be a strong draw and ive heard the d2 is a little draw biased.thanks!

    Matthew,

Thank you for your question. The 915 D3 could be a very good fit for you. It is a smaller head than the D2 (440cc vs 460cc) and with the improvements in design in the 915D3 is forgiving and workable. The D2 does have more dynamic face closure than the D3 so the D2 will be easier to square up. The D2 is not a "draw" driver rather it's just easier to square the face compared to the D3. Let us know which model fit you best after your fitting this weekend.

    Thanks

Great information Will.  Would you say the 915 D3 is as forgiving as the older 913 D2?   I am currently playing the 913 D2 and love that if finds the fairway nicely. My recent fitting with a Titleist rep showed the 915 D3 to produce the best #'s. I just do not want to give up the forgiveness I have in the 913 D2. Thanks for any feedback!

I  purchased the 915 D3 to replace my 913 D2 driver. I am a 4 handicap and predominantly play a draw with all my shots. A friend recommended to go the the D3 for less spin to soften my draw and "big miss shot", the duck hook! I can tell you the D3 has done just that! I bought the D3, 10.5 loft, with the Aldila Silver 60-3.4 s shaft. My golf buddies immediately noticed how much straighter and more controlled my drives were during the first round I played with the driver. The ball flight is a little lower and I can't seem to work the ball as much as before but will give that up for straighter more accurate drives. I can't say that the 915 is any longer than the 913 but in all fairness the November weather here in Georgia has been colder than normal and hasn't been the best conditions to judge distance right now. I hit another friends driver with the 70 gram shaft and it felt a little more solid at impact so you may want to experiment with different shafts to find the feel and flight you like. All in all, I would highly recommend the D3 and can't see you having any issues since you are already playing Titleist.

    Good Luck!

I picked up a new 915D2 10.25 with a Rogue 70 stiff shaft and absolutely love it.  Love the tight pattern.  I am hitting a nice high soft baby draw on center line with this club, which is outrageous.  Do not think I could slice this club if I tried.  Went from a 910D3 10.25 Diamana 'ahina 72 stiff shaft......which I had more workability with, but not as tight a pattern....picked up maybe 5-10 yards......roll after impact a real factor.......

I had heard great things from friends and from threads on this forum as well, but the best thing I did was go to a certified fitter and let the number speak for themselves.  This ensured that I got the right club, then when I took it to the course, the WOW factor took over.......always get fitted.......
