I am wanting to get my 915 D3 driver, 915 Fd and 915 Hd ordered and have a question regarding shafts.  I recently went to an indoor fitting (due to some weather issues), which I don't like because you obviously can't see the ball flight accurately, and the fitter suggested I go with the Diamana D+ 80 in the 915 D3.  I know that is a normal gram weight of the fairway shaft, but not sure of going that heavy in the driver.  I do have a swing speed of 108-110 and hit the ball high (with a lot of spin), but wanted to see if anyone else out there has the Diamana D+ 80 in their driver and what they think about it?

I am probably going to have to go to an outdoor fitting, but any input would be appreciated.

Back when I played the 909 had the Whiteboard flowerband 83 x5ct stiff shaft. It was the most consistant & accurate set-up I ever hit. If you have dispersion issues this would be a good fit? I recently fitted to a 915 D3 driver with the D+ White 70 stiff - ordered at 44.5" D3 sw. The white 70 stiff shaft performed the best for me, and the dispersion was better than the 60g. At 52 I was thinking 60g stiff before the fitting. There was also only a 1 mph SS difference between the Rogue 60 & Diamana 70.

    Matt B,

Thank you for the response and really appreciate the information.  I am actually pretty straight (not too much in the way of dispersion issues), but do tend to have high launch and spin rates - which is causing the ball to balloon and virtually no roll.  However, like you, I ended up deciding on the 915 D3 with the D+ White 70 Stiff and my spin rates are much lower (down from around 3700rpm to around 2800rpm) - which has helped with trajectory and actually getting a little roll.  Titleist has done it right with the 915's!

Heavier shafts can sometimes help you contriol the ball, reduce spin, and so on. The ball you use, on the course, or during a fitting, will have an effect on spin as well. When the weather permits, you should schedule an outdoor fitting.
