    Hi there,

It appears that every 2 years, Titleist comes out with new irons and woods?  712 AP irons, 2012, 714 APs, this year. Woods, 2013 and 2015.  Will 2016 bring new AP irons again? I am thinking of buying AP1s this season, yet want to wait till the fall to see if they bring out new irons for 2016, hence 716s?

Edmund:  Their new irons will probably premier on the tour in July and be available to the public in mid November.  You can wait until November and get a good deal on the 714s or go to the new 716s.....either way make sure you get fitted for the proper club....that is the most important thing to purchasing a new club........I own 714 AP2s and they are pretty awesome club....we have a lot of others on this forum who own AP1s and speak well of them.......and yes, Titleist is on a rotating two year cycle.......not like some manufacturers who seem to come out with new clubs about every six months, which in my opinion does not show a lot of confidence in their product or technology......just my opinion......chuck

Going to be hard to beat the looks and performance of the 714AP2's, but I too want to see what's coming down the pike, as I'm toying with the idea of a makeover for my bag this year.  New irons would make an excellent birthday/Christmas gift to myself.

(But let's not wish away another summer already.)

I did a makeover last year with the 714 AP2s, then recently added the 915D2 10.25 and 915h 17.25, to my 913F 14.25 and two other 913hs (18.50 and 23.25).....added a SM5 56.10 to my SM4 50.08....and will not change my Scott Cameron Newport Notchback Select which looks pretty ratty but putts like a champ.....the black is fading away but I like a worn putter....recently changed my Baby T Scotty Midsize grip for the new Matador Midsize which is awesome and the only other change I made to the putter was changed the weights from 10gms to 15gms.....these clubs are working real well for me....have gone through the breakin period and all I need to do is keep working on my stance and alignment......last two rounds out with the putter, have been around 25 putts....so looks can be decieving.....it's a sleeper.....

Thanks all. Yes Rick, the 714s look good, yet for some reason I sill like the looks of the 712s.  Yet are no longer available to be built from Titleist after a fitting. This is why I want to see what the 716s will look like. I DO love the AP2s, yet I think they will not be forgiving enough for me. I still can hit them during a fitting. Who knows. Maybe a combo set. And YES, let's not wish away another summer.  Not to ruin it for the skiers out there, like myself, I want winter to end. OR a couple of warm days to go the the range.
