I just arrived home from the Titleist Demo Day at my club and these are my thoughts. I know people will disagree with me, but after trying the 915 line of woods and hybrids, I must say that I prefer the 913 line better. First, I hit the 913's higher and I also prefer the feel of the Bassara shafts over the Diamana M+ Red shafts. Again, I'm sure most people love the new stuff, but for me, I'm sticking with what I have for now. Frank P

    Frank,

It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks, you are happy with your current setup, that is what matters!

I haven't tried the 915s yet, but plan to in the spring after my swing comes out of hibernation.  Like you, I love my 913s, so when I try the 915s I'll need to see some pretty good gains over my 913s before I decide to change.

Never tried the 913Ds. I went from a 910D3 to a 915D2 after being fitted. I do like the new Aldila Black Rogue 70 shaft. Again, it is the indian and not the arrow, as the saying goes. If you are scoring well with your 913s, by all means stay with them. I have a mixed bag. 915D2 10.25*, 913F 14.25*, 915H 18 17.25*, 913H 17 18.50*, 913H 24 23.25*, 910H 19 20.50*. I do not play with the 910H very much only on very short courses if I take out my 913F. This mixed bag works well for me. I can hit the 915H almost as far as the 913F. I found the 915s to have a small gain in distance but what impressed me was the accuracy. That is what sold me. I'll take 260 down the middle all day at my age. We seniors love accuracy.

No disagreement from me.....Use what you need to so you can score and win tournaments. If it ain't broke....don't fix it!

I have been looking for a new 3 wood for about a year now and i still prefer my 909 over any other 3 wood I've tried.

When I was fitted for my new 915, I tried every new shaft that Titleist offers plus a few upgrades to ensure that I got maximum performance from the new head. My fitter spent an hour with me ensuring that the 915 was right for me.

Denny; I also play the 4 & 7 woods and it's interesting to me that you like your 913 better that the 915. Our only difference is I hit my 910D2 much better than my 913D2. I'm planning on trying the 915 so I'm wondering just how it will compare to my 910? Thanks for your input.

What I like about Titleist is their not every year release cycle. Looking at the retail focused OEMs, it reminds me of Detroit in the 50's and 60's. New tailfins every year with the same pushrod engines dating back to the mid 40's. The USGA standards are the great equalizer (the pushrod engine). There can be incremental improvements (bigger sweet spot, moving weight around). So depending on the player and how well their current setup is matched to them, one release to the next may not show enough benefit beyond the wow factor.
