Hello everyone. I've been upgraded to the Motre Speeder VC 6.2 in my 915 D2 and absolutely love it. I was wondering if it's common to do the same in the 3 wood. Just add some weight of course?? Thank you for the replys.

I have the same Aldila Black Rogue Shaft in my 915D2 that I have in my 915H 18* except my driver is a 70 and my H is an 85. If that is what you are asking. I think if you are talking about putting a driver shaft in a 3 wood there would be a little more to it and I would recommend you go to a fitter/club maker for assistance.

That's what I'm asking Chuck. I just love the feel of the Speeder. I would for sure try it out first on the launch monitors with a fitter, before spending another $250 on a 3 wood shaft. Thank you. I'm just curious if others do this. Seems practical. What rogue black do you swing in the hybrid? I tried the stock 95 MSI in the driver n the numbers weren't so great for me.

Alright. I cannot tell everyone how much I appreciate all the input. Thank you all. I'm gonna take the 915F with the Diamana blue 70 stiff back to Roger Dunn and to a actual fitting for the 3 wood. Keep em straight n long guys. Thanks again.

I was fitted in Oceanside with RIP Alpha 60 stiff in the driver and 70 RIP Alpha in the 3 wood.  I have kept the same shafts as I upgraded from 913's to 915's.  Nothing that I tried was as good

I have seen a lot of people who have the same shaft in their driver as in their three wood (but with a heavier version in the three wood - typically 10 grams heavier). I have done this at times in the past but have gone away from this in the last several years. For me, I use the clubs differently so I need different requirements for a shaft. I sometimes contact the ground with my three wood so I prefer to have a stiffer shaft, particularly one that is tip-staff in my 3-wood because it hits the ground. Also, other characteristics of my swing indicated that different setups were appropriate. We figured my club and shaft setup across the bag by working with Titleist fitters and hitting various shaft and head permutations. I would recommend working with a Titleist fitter and seeing what works best with your game and your individual swing characteristics.

I completely agree with Mike. Basically a 3 wood shaft is a tipped driver shaft that is cut to length so you would need to add some weight to feel the club. I like my 3 woods pretty heavy which tends to mess with the bend characteristics of the shaft to the point where fitters hate me. I'm usually a proponent for the same shaft throughout my woods, but the 915's were a little different for me. I couldn't hit the white board diamana shaft on the driver, but worked like a charm for the 3wood and hybrids so like Mike was saying, go to a fitter and swing it and see if you like the feel. If you can I would highly recommend gaming it for a week if you can.

    Hi Sean,

To echo many of the answers already, I would suggest trying out the different 3w shafts first. While it is common to have similar driver and FWY shafts, many people do need a different performing shaft when it comes to their fwy. Often, individuals are looking for a shaft that helps create a higher launch and maybe a little more spin for control.

Let us know how the search goes.

    Take care,

Yes ... But go with 7.2 version in fairway for more control

I like to keep the same feel in my clubs. I have the white 70/80/92 then steel in my irons. I have seen players going to higher launching shafts in fairways, however you could increase your launch more with loft than shaft if needed, that's why I love the sure-fit hosel. If the VC 6.2 is the perfect fit for your swing I would recommend getting the VC 7.2 for your fairway then adjust the loft & weight to what feels & performs best for you.
