Do you mean on the sole of the club? If so, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for normal wear to fade the paint. It may also come off if you may have hit out of the sand and chipped off a piece, allowing further paint to chip off from normal use. It is all situational, but I would say you don't have much to worry about.

  3. Hi Alex,

I play ap2 as well. My 6 iron has a little bit of the paint worn away... so I'm guessing it's normal? It never really bothered me much, but I think I did read somewhere others having a similar experience.

Hello Alex.  I think the paint problem is normal "wear and tear".  There may be a paint product recommended by Titleist to touch up the numbers.  However, I generally use a felt tip pen or sometimes touch up paint.

If your club is new and the paint is peeling prematurely, then I would discuss it with the Titleist Service Department or the Pro Shop where you bought them.  Please forgive my French translation -- it has been many years since I last wrote and spoke French!

Bonjour Alex.

Hello,  If the numbers are coming off and you purchased your clubs less than a year ago, we will cover that under Warranty in the US.  Please take your clubs to a local Titleist pro shop and have them set up a Warranty repair.  We will repaint the numbers and send your set back to you.

If you are in France, please contact UKConsumer@acushnetgolf.com for Warranty directions.

My numbers are coming off as well and only on the clubs that I use the most. Cathi, I warm up on matts on Monday thru Thursday and I believe that this is the primary culprit. I have been touching them up with Sharpie paint pens and this seems to help for a while. I bought my 714 AP2s in November 2013 when they first came out.

Who would you be more afraid to face in match play? Someone with all the numbers perfectly clean and black, or someone with no paint left in the numbers at all?
