Last week I had a two hour fitting session at the Titleist fitting centre at St. Ives. I have to say the service I received and the experience overall was more than first class. Paul who is a club fitting technician there was brilliant. He gave me a very objective and honest appraisal of my performance with each piece of equipment and was able to recommend the best tools for me.
I would recomend this experience to any fellow golfer out there who wants a quality product and equipment that is superbly tailored to their needs and swing. I had an old set of png G20 Irons that I had completely outgrown. I had my heart set on the AP2s from the current 714 line, what happened at the fitting surprised even me - I hit even better with the CB 714 irons which I think are truly astonishingly good! Just love them! So much feel and I had so much confidence from the address. I knew I could hit with this club as soon as I had it in my hands. Suffice to say this is the set of irons I am now waiting for on order with KBS tour stiff shafts which are also fantastic. I would say to anyone - go to the fitting centre with an open mind. What suits one may not suit another. That's why golf is such a beautiful game, so many variables and we all have our own way of getting around in the lowest score possible.
I also went for the 915 D2 driver which has to be the best driver on the market at present, and the new SM5 wedge in 52, 56 and 60 degree lofts.
I have a 913 fairway wood at present which I love, I tried the 915 fairway which I have to say is even better than the 913. Slightly larger head and more forgiveness and even better feel and confidence at the address. I plan on getting one soon.
So I finsished off the new bag by getting an x5 futura x scotty putter. I love it! I would recomend it to anyone looking to increase confidence when addressing the ball. This putter makes is so easy to square up. It is also superbly balanced and feels great when making contact with the ball.
The decent thing to do now is get a 9.5 cuff staff bag to keep this awesome lot in. I wouldn't have anything other than Titleist clubs from now on, excellent build quality and amazing clubs.
