My 714 AP2s arrived on Friday and I finally got out this morning to play a few holes.

I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the threads on those who have had issues with their AP2s, but all of those fears are gone now. I love these irons!

I'm pretty sure I'm a Titleist fan for life now.

Congratulations Brandon! I too recently purchased AP2 Irons ... last autumn and have loved them. I know friends who love the more traditional cavity back design or the muscle backs, but IMHO, I think the AP2's are totally in the performance category of iron and love their balance, aesthetics, and workability. Share with us how your rounds went and what your reactions were in playing with them. After reading some of the criteria and feedback from others, how did you eventually make the decision to proceed? All the best and may the AP2's bring you great shots after great shots! D

I took them to the range immediately after I picked them up. I was shocked that I was hitting them about half a club farther than the AP1s I had. My fade (that can turn into a slice if I'm not careful) has turned into a clear draw for my shorter irons and I'm not having any problems hitting the long irons as well.

I played 9 yesterday morning and shot a 43 on a par 36 nine. I'm sure I'll be shooting much lower now that I'm no longer fighting my equipment.

    Here's an update:

I've played a couple rounds of 9 holes and a semi-monthly lesson last night (Sunday, May 18), I'm really happy with these irons. My coach is helping me figure out my new shot shape and has been very happy with the progress in my swing so far. Now to figure out how to string together a bunch of good shots to lower my handicap :)

After getting fitted, my shots have gone from a fade to a draw. It's getting hard to trust my swing enough to aim right of target now. But when I hit a pure shot, it feels purely like a practice shot. I love it!

Absolutely an incredible feeling of a well struck ball on the sweet spot of the forged club like the AP2! Glad to hear that you're liking your selection Brandon. I'm a firm believer that these clubs can help you become a better golfer as you practice and work through your swing issues in order to "re-create" that sweet spot sensation! PETER H. - I concur completely about the experience of getting fit at the Titleist Regional Fitting Centre at Northview. Kathy and I have been working for the better part of a year now going through the fittings for various clubs, etc. and they do a "bang up" job! I just hope more people who are looking at purchasing new clubs give the Regional Fitting Centre and the Titleist experience a good chance -- I daresay that most golfers will be pleased.
  6. Brandon, great to read the news!

Be careful, the more you hit them the more you will love them! Believe it or not!

    Enjoy! Chris

I am pretty excited, my AP2 / Project X Steel 5.5 irons arrived Saturday. I hit them a couple of times at the range & they feel great. Putting them into play tomorrow. Looking forward to a new beginning.

Outstanding! Awesome clubs! A couple of operator error issues other than that they feel great on course. Full marks to Kathy Stecyk at the Titleist Regional Fitting Center located at Northview Golf & Country Club, Surrey, BC who fit me using the TRACKMAN system.

I bought my AP2s with stiff steel shafts in early April after having DTRs and still learning to hit them. When you strike correctly, it is like a hot knife through butter.

i am a 22 handicap and looking forward to it getting better with these irons. I find the mis-hits more forgiving than my old irons and hitting them about 5-8 yards farther.

    Love the irons.

Congrats!  There is a break-in period with any new club and the more you play with the AP2s the more they will feel a part of you. I play AP2s and they make the game more enjoyable.  A good investment!

Congratulations! AP2s are awesome clubs. They inspire confidence imo. Mine should be here any day now!

Congrats Brandon. I've had every set of the AP2's. The 714's are by far the best hitting set. I don't know what they can do to improve on them Play Well, -Chris
