I am currently playing the 762's and have been for a while now.  I like them, but i feel as if  it is time for an upgrade.  I have looked at both the AP2's and CB's.  I am wondering which would be most comparable to the 762's as far as feel, but I wouldn't mind having a slightly higher ball flight without sacrificing any distance.  The 762's have DG s300 shafts in them.  I appreciate any input from anyone!

I'd give the CBs the slight edge in feel, but you'd most likely get a higher ball flight and possibly a little more distance from the AP2s.

I am a pretty decent ball striker that values a good-looking iron at address (grew up playing Wilson blades), and I would opt for the AP2 every time. Still looks great and "feels soft," but gives that little extra bit of forgiveness. I'd see if you can test both at your local golf shop and go from there.

I bought AP2s this season and haven't looked back. Great feel, workability and forgiveness. I had a 165 yard approach recently and caught it a bit fat, but still ended with good result and a birdie. Fortunately (and unfortunately) the AP2s bail me out with some regularity.

If possible, try them on a monitor. The increase in higher ball flight you are seeing will actually reduce carry distance. I went thru the same thing last year. Loved the CB's, but hit them VERY high. Ball flight on AP's was much lower, and I was over a club longer. It comes down to preference. Either way, if you're hitting a ProV1 with a Titleist iron, that ball is stopping FAST......

Thanks for the input.  I have yet to have a chance to test them out and money has been tight here lately, but I definitely want a new set soon.  Any more input will be greatly appreciated!

When the conditions are right and you are ready, go see a certified fitter and test both clubs.  He will set you up for the right club.  I like the AP2s with the XP95 STIFF shaft which is a lighter shaft and gives me a nice high flight.  But again, trust the fitter.  Ensure that he is a certified fitter and can be trusted.  Ask around, don't just go into a brick and motor and ask to hit clubs.

The Ap2's are the most forgiving and will give you a higher flight in the longer irons. If you like the looks of both clubs then I would choose the easier to play AP2's.
