  1. Which 714 option should I go with? Play a swoosh split cavity blade and really like them but want to make the transition to the best brand of clubs. I have read a ton of reviews on the whole series. The real question is how much better will the 716 series be then the 714 series? Is it worth waiting for with about 5 good months left of golf.

Tyler... there is at least another thread that considers this very topic. Nonetheless, given your situation, I would pose the questions to you: 1) what irons are your currently playing? --If they are a significantly older iron, then you may just as well benefit from upgrading to the 714 AP2's vs. waiting for the 716 version. 2) Have you tried the AP2's and/or the CB's? -- If so, do you have a preference. How was your ball striking? Did you get to try them out with a launch monitor and a certified fitter like those certified with Titleist? Despite these questions that I have posed to you Tyler, the real gist seems to me that you are eager for some new irons and that you appreciate the 714 series from Titleist but are not sure if you will miss out on something even better with the 716 series. IT seems to me that the improvement that will be gained by the 716 series vs. the 714 series will be "marginal" or "incremental" -- from what I gather, it will be similar to the differences between the 714 and 712 AP2's. Good clubs with some slight improvements. Not the vast difference such as going from a 1980's style club to a present day iron, but an improvement nonetheless. If you want to play with the new irons and get more enjoyment out of your game for the remainder of the 2015 golf season, then by all means go get fit for the 714 series club. However, if you are content with your existing clubs and can wait for the 716, then pursue that option -- keeping in mind though that they generally have not been released until November. One last item for thought -- Jordan Speith has played the 714 AP2's this past two years and they served him rather well in Augusta and at Chambers Bay. Hopefully they will also serve him well at the Old Course in St. Andrews too!

well there is a rumored iron between the AP1 & AP2 plus could Titleist employ the slot technology on their new irons?

It is only about 120 days left and that is not long.  Read up on whatever reviews you can find on the internet on the the new clubs and see if the wait is worth it.  Then make the choice.  You know that good things happen to those who wait......

I'm waiting for the 716 model, however in the meantime I found a used set of Ap2 712 irons that fits my specs, for a really good price. I will be able to recover 80-90% of my investment in trade-in value when I order the new 716 set in the fall. They get feedback from their staff players so I am confident that Titleist will release an improved AP2 iron for 2016.

    Tyler,

For what it's worth I was in the same dilemma in the 710-712 year.

I ended up waiting and have had the AP2 712's since. They will be the same price and usually drop in November, so you're almost there.

  8. Thank you for the feedback. How much does the previous model drop in price once the 716's come out? I am leaning toward getting the 714 series since there will not be a huge difference  but I just don't know please help

Not sure maybe 10/20%. I believe the 913D dropped $100 when the 915D came out (25%).
