I'm currently playing the 712 ap1 with the Tour Ad 65i reg shafts but would like to switch to the ap2 with the Recoil F3 shaft. My question is at a 7 hdcp has anyone with approx. the same hdcp made this switch and if so were you able to hit the smaller heads? I'm somewhat consistent in hitting the center of the ap1 and I know the lofts are very similar to my 712 ap1. I'm not looking for any more distance, just more maneuverability. Planning on visiting my local course for a Titleist Thursday fitting but just wanted to see what kind of experience fellow ap1 players have experienced. Thanks for your feedback!!

  2. I'm a 15 hcp. I used to play with 715 ap1 irons ... I used to hit it well, but I had some issues mainly with distance control (ap1 are really long irons, I used to shoot 175 with the 7 iron).

I decided to switch to the Ap2s.

It was not an easy transition, took me a month to get used to it, now I would never go back ... I would say the ap1 was hiding some of my swing problems, I had to work on an over the top bad habit and some other details ...

Today my swing is much more consistent and I can shape the shots really easily ... Ans the contact feels so much better.

    I'm using ap2 on 9 to 5 irons. And T-MB on 3 and 4 irons ... It's been great!

Thanks for your response. As soon as I can find the time I'm going to test them against my current set.

Hi, I did the same thing. It did take some time to adjust to them. I am a 10 hdc and my swing got better , more consistent distance. Better ball flight. Ap2 716 are fairly forgiving. I can say I love my Ap2 716. Go try them , you will not regret it.
