AP2 shaft recommendation

    I am purchasing my 15 year old son a set of 716 AP2 irons in a few days. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for shafts. He is currently playing AP1 irons with DG S300 shafts. He is 6'5" tall and will have a +1 shaft length.

    His driver playing swing speed is 114 and he normally swings his irons around 78-84, depending on the loft. We were looking at the stock DG AMT shaft as well as the KBS Tour. Can you provide any advice?

    Hi Jamie. I would say the easy answer is to take him and get him fit. Every swing is different and there may be a shaft you aren't considering that fits his swing better.

    get your son fitted from a professional Jamie! only this way he can find the best matching shaft for him

    Go see a fitter before you order the clubs. They will be able to determine the proper shaft for your son. Without at the least seeing the swing and ball flight it is really not possible to recommend a shaft.

    I 100% agree with getting fit, but I must add that I LOVE my DG AMT that are in my 716 AP2. These shafts produce great feel and launch throughout the entire set. Titleist knocked this combo out of the park!

    The KBS will give him a lower swing weight than the DG
