Normal PW vs custom vokey wedge

    Hey TT, I'm curious to see the teams thoughts on their preference of pitching wedges. Do y'all prefer the PW that comes stock with your set? Or do you prefer a custom 46-48 degree vokey wedge. Why do you prefer what you use? Any thoughts?

    I prefer the iron set PW. Especially with the way that vokey came out with the sm6s to feel and fly more like a continuation of the irons. I don't do a lot of manipulation with my pitching wedge though and just use it for full shots so the grind and bounce is not as beneficial for me.

    I always start the season with my AP2 PW and once that swing is right swap it for a Vokey 46*

    You have to hit the 46 Vokey, which I absolutely LOVE. It's a different club altogether, so you'll have to experiment......

    I put a Vokey 48 in the bad - love it - feel like my control is better and is provides create options for pitching and chipping around the green.

    Funny...I was just thinking about this. I currently have both the GW and PW from my AP2 714 set. I do have a 50* SM6 ready to go to replace the GW....thinking hard about getting a 46* Vokey at some point. I guess my thinking is more grooves with the spin milled face to better hold greens with. Better check with pitch and runs as well.

    I've had the P from the set with both sets of my AP-2's (712 and 716). I initially had the 54 and 58 SM4 Vokeys (because my 712's also had the G wedge). When I got the 716's, I decided to get just 5-P, then add three custom Vokeys -- 50/12F, 54/14F, and 58/12K. Wedge shafts and lies are different from the rest of the set.     I think when the 718 line drops ill be going with the four vokey wedge set up.

    Like Mike I use my AP2 PW, one factor is cost but mostly I use it as a full-shot club and therefore like the continuation throughout my set. I use my SM5 gap wedge to do alot of work around the greens instead of my PW.
