With the recent launch of our new family of 718 irons, it was a perfect excuse for me to get fit and make sure my set up was dialed in. After working with the fitter and testing out all of the new irons we landed on a combo/blended set. The final set up for me... AP3 4-iron (bent 1* weak) and AP2 irons (5 - PW) all with Project X LZ 6.0 shafts and I couldn't be happier with the results.

So, with our latest quick poll, I was curious to see who else has been fit into a combo/blended set of irons.

Let us know below and feel free to share what's in your bag by leaving a comment.

Every time I've tried it I didn't like it.

But I have 990b 2-p and I use 5-p, the long ones are now hybrids.

Congrats on your new club's Mike D. I just finished my first season with my 716 Ap1s. Still love them. Maybe in 2 years I'll be ready to get fit again. All the best!
    Play Well,

    My combo set includes: 3, 4 and 5 T-MB and 6-PW MB.
  5. I am still gaming the 712 AP2s. They are great clubs that still perform! Glad you like your new setup Mike!

    God bless,

  6. T-MB 2 iron, 4-W C16's and 54 & 60 Vokeys.

I've been playing a combo set for the last 4 club generations. I use a CB in the 5 & 6 irons and MB for the 7-P. The 4 iron moves between a T-MB and a 23 degree (set to 24 degrees) 816H2.

    4hybrid 5-6 ap3 7-48degree. Ap1s really works well for senior golfer (myself)

Have not been to a Titleist Thursday fitting in my area yet. None were scheduled this fall as in the past. Have plenty of time. I can always go to a friend who is a certified Titleist fitter if I get antsy and has been in the business over 25 years. Will work on my game during the winter. Will probably not go with a blended because I carry nothing longer than a five iron.

Right now playing AP2 PW, 9i, 8i and 7i. Plus AP3 7i, 6i, 5i. The two 7 irons are 10 yards different, so for now I am using both, with no bending required. It's out of season. I'll play 15 clubs in the winter and figure it out by next season...when there then may be some bending necessary.

    I play 917 D2 Driver, 3 and 7 wood, 4 - PW, 50, 55, 60 degree vokey wedges and dual balance Scotty Cameron.

Long irons are my strength. I often bag a 2 iron from my old set of DCI's.

Even if that were not the case, I would still have to consider the cost of adding 3 or 4 hybrids. Tough for me to justify.
  14. I've always thought about gaming a combo set. I currently play the 718 CB Irons 4-PW with Project X LZ 6.0 shafts. However, I might order the 718 MB Irons just for 7-PW, I love the classic look of a forged blade, especially Titleist. I simply think the little extra cavity in the CB's provide a little more sense of security.
  15. 718 TMB 7-4 irons and 718 AP2 P-8. Just received. Hope to get out before snow flies

    I'm using 718 AP1 4 & 5 iron and C16 6-PW.
