Since the forged iron is so soft, is there a risk of deformation if I "chunk" a shot and bite too much ground? Assume average fairway hardness.

We can bend the clubs 2° flat. We can possibly bend them another degree for you but there is a chance that the chrome will crimp. You would have to acknowledge that you knew that there was a chance of crimping the chrome before we would proceed. If you have your clubs bent further at a golf shop, that will void the warranty with us. Crimping the chrome could lead to flaking and result in rusting in the future. It will not affect the performance, just the appearance.

So what I'm gathering here is this, I have recently been fitted by a pro at the PGA superstore in Arizona and have been recommended to be at 4 degrees flat. And what your saying is this. Ordering them from titleist at 2 degrees flat and then bending them another 2 degrees would be acceptable and most likely not damage the chroming on the club heads. Please correct me if my wrong

We have standard loft and 2° upright heads that are bent, then chromed for us so that we can accomodate those players that need 4° upright heads. To bend raw heads and then send them out for chroming would make each customized order take about 6-8 weeks. Our leadtime for custom clubs is 2-3 days so we limit our bending to 2°.

Hello,

When clubs are custom ordered through Titleist, are they just regular heads that are bent after chroming? Or, are they bent before chroming? I have had good luck in the past bending to spec and then chroming. Of course, you have to still to a minor tweak post-chroming because they will move a bit due to the heating of the chroming process.

Hi William, We wouldn't recommend bending them 4° at all. It's not that they can't be bent (because they are forged), but you take the chance on crimping the chrome which may flake and if it flakes,it will eventually rust, so we do not bend more than 2°.

Can the lie angle be bent 3 or 4 degrees flat? The lie angle on the AP 2 5 iron is 62*, can ir be bent to 58*? Bill Burdick

Hi Christopher, We will bend our irons up to 2°. We have AP2 and AP1 heads that are built at 2° upright which means that we can bend those to a maximum 4° upright. The MB and CB heads only come in standard lie so 2° upright is the max on those.
