indoor fitting off of mats?   So much more accurate and real golf than mats.  Find an Advanced Fitter by Titleist that uses Pro V1 balls, hits off of grass and uses a launch monitor.

However, I think you have to consider your local store and what they bring to the table...for instance where I live near a Golf Galaxy whom has a much better local presence and reputation.  Although, I have purchased items from Golfsmith and had good success over the years.  Bottomline, who is your local retailer and who do you feel more comfortable with?

I would have to agree with Steve.  As someone who made the mistake of going to Golf Galaxy, hitting off of mats or indoors (especially if you are getting fit for irons) will completely change the fitting process.  Not being able to see the ball flight was my biggest pet peeve but these fitters insist the launch monitors give you the numbers needed.  You need to be able to see the entire ball flight to ensure you like how the club reacts in regards to distance, trajectory, off-the-line movement, etc.  I made the mistake once and I will never do it again.  It is well worth your time and money.

I suggest a fitter who has a good track record, interview fitter for skill level. Ask about number of fittings done. Also I believe indoor fittings using trackman indoor unit,needs 20 yrds air space, accurate to 1 foot for every 100 yrds. Gives all #s needed to fit any club. Trackman is used by PGA tour. At a top indoor facility you can try any product from mutiple companies. Check out mytrackman.com
