Hi Saw your thread, hope you don't mind me answering. Obviously without launch numbers its quite difficult to help that much, but there are some shafts that will defo launch lower, but there are a number of factors here. Firstly, you could try a heavier shaft like the great Fujikura motore speeder 7.2 or if you wanted to stay in the 60 odd gram range, then possibly the Oban Devotion 6 or the real deal Ahina 60. But I think it may help if you went over to the D3 as that head spins less than the D2 and spin can be a killer if you are trying to lower your flight. Why not go try a D3 and try it with the Motore Speeder 6.2/7.2, I really think that combo would help alot, obviously a good fitter will help too with that. Also don't be afraid to try an x flex too, but as I said, a real good Titleist surefit fitter will help you thru the process. But my suggestion if I was taking a punt, would be the D3 head with the Fujikura 6.2/7.2. I hope you will stay in touch to let me know how you are getting on. Kind regards Jason

Thank you very much for your input. I am thinking about going to a golfsmith and getting my numbers checked also. I will definitely try your suggestion when I go. I will get back on the board and post what works best after I go.

Jeff!! Please make sure you get fitted and try the club/shaft outside on a proper range, not hitting into a net, as launch monitors can be fiddled and racked up to suit retailers needs, not yours. So make sure you find a good Titleist fitter that uses an outdoor range and only uses a Trackman Launch monitor as anything else is often poorly calibrated and you won't get true readings. I have seen videos on the net of people allegedly swinging at 110mph on substandard poorly calibrated launch monitors, and if most of them are swinginging at 110mph then I must be swinging at 130mph!!(NOT!!!). Seriously though, get yourself onto a Trackman with a good Titleist fitter and you will be fine I am sure. If you don't, there are so many horror stories out there my friend. Kind regards Jason

Try playing the ball a little more in the back of your stance. It will promote a fade but keep the ball low.

Always a good idea to get your swing looked at well. but changing your swing to suit your clubs is never a good idea. Get the clubs to suit your swing, not visa versa. Notwithstanding any swing faults that a good pro can help with of course. Regards Jason

Please definately go see the Titleist Certified fitter. I will say that I must disagree with the suggestion to move the ball back in your stance to promote a lower ball flight. What that will actually do is promote a more downward hit on the ball which will actually increase the spinrate on the ball and it will tend to fly a bit higher. Of course, this assumes that you swing plane is where it should be. As part of your fitting, you should see if you can get a bit os swing analysis done. I have a feeling that part of your ballooning problem is that something in your swing may have changed, not just the driver change. The most importnat part of a good fitting is having your swing sorted out FIRST. Good Luck!
