Can't find a fitter to meet my needs!

Dear TT and friends,

I was recently on vacation to Miami, Fl and tried getting fitted for a new driver since my 909D3's face has become dead.  I currently live in El Paso, Tx and seeing that there is a lack of fitters here that have X-Stiff shaft selections I decided to get fitted on vacation. Only to run into the same problem I went to Golf Smith, Golf Galaxy, and to a few local stores. Here is all my info;

Old Driver: 909D3, 9.5deg, Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki Alpha 73g, X-Stiff, tipped 2"; numbers, Club Head Speed 118mph, launch angle 13.3deg, RPM's 3148, ball speed was 167mph, now 138mph, carry distance 301yards, total distance 318yards

Driver tested: 910D3, 9.5deg, Mitsubishi Diamana Ahina 65g, Stiff; numbers, Club Head Speed 114-118mph, launch angle 9deg, RPM's 3429, Ball speed 166-169mph, carry distance 280yrds, total distance 298yrds.

These numbers were the best of all the settings, I was told with a different shaft my launch angle would increase. Yet they did not carry any other shafts to show me. I will not buy a new driver and pay and up charge for a shaft that someone thinks will work; I want to see it work. Am I expecting too much? I know only 2 percent of golfers are scratch and have a swing speed as High as mine. However I fell we are the ones that need correct fitting the most. If someone could please guide me in the right direction to get this done I would be very great full.

Lone Star Golf Club and Coronado CC are you best bet around there.

While in Miami, did you check at Doral?  It is an Advance Fitting Center.  While I am in the 2% at the other end of the scale (and left-handed - have to find heads as well), the Advanced Fitting Centers definitely have better inventory than the standard cart/bag locations.

Hi Dick,

There will be a fitting day @ Fort Bliss GC (in El Paso) this Friday from 3-7PM.  Give them a try and if they do not have sufficient shafts or heads for you to try, give us a call at Team Titleist..  We can work with Lone Star so that if you go there for a fitting, they will have shafts and heads.
