Hello Titleist
I just completed a club fitting session at a regional fitter. Here is the Northeast, it is very rainy. We started off warming up on the mat and I was not striking the ball well. I actually hit a few very thin. We moved outside on the grass and after warming up a bit, I started hitting the ball better. I currently play png Anser but am moving to Titleist and was hoping to be fitted for the MB's. During the session, I started hitting the CB's because the fitter felt the MB's were way above my skill level and the club would not perform for me. I was in agreement due to the thin shots I had been hitting. Anyway, we went through the AP1, to the CB and then the AP2. The AP2 set up with project x 5.5 set up had the lowest spin rate and had the best distance.
The CB's didn't work out so well for me, but before I left I asked to hit the MB's with the same set up of the Ap2's.....the MB felt better, nice and solid and I hit it well, but the trackman numbers suggested the spin rate was more than the fitter wanted to see.....my question is, between the Ap2's and the MB's, is the spin rate that much different? should I not even consider the MB's?? from a feel perspective, they felt the nicest. I walked away without placing an order. The fitter did mot feel comfortable selling me the MB's and I am not in love with the AP2's.....I really appreciate the honesty of the fitter and know he was doing his job and representing Titleist in the best way possible....is the spin rate that much different in the MB's that I shouldn't even consider them? Please help!!!!!
