Hi Mike,  We would have built them at D1 with the PX 6.0 shafts and the whiteout grip with 3 extra wraps. 

Thanks! Can I send them in through a local shop to have them made to D2 or D3? Or should I go the Lead Tape route?

You can have your local shop set up a repair and we can take them apart and take a look to see if they can be made heavier using the existing heads. If they can be made heavier, they will reweight them and reglue.  The MSRP would be 9/club.  To change the irons one swingweight would not be noticeable.  You would probably want them to be moved to D3.  Before you do that, you might want to experiment with lead tape to make sure that weight will work for you. 

In the future, when you are placing an order for a club, you can request a swingweight within tolerance and we will build to that swingweight for you.  If no swingweight is requested, we will build with specified components without any change.  The standard swingweight listed is for stock components without changes.

I found my order sheet that came from titleist with the clubs and it says "standard". So would it be at D2 or D1? Thanks!

Standard means that they built the clubs with the components specified and that it came out within range for those components which would have been D1 +/- .5.  If you did not have the three extra wraps with that grip, it would have come out to D1.5 +/- .5.

D2 is a standard swingweight with the stock shaft (DYG S300), at standard length, with a stock grip at standard size.

I stopped in the local shop and had them check the irons swing weight. They were all at C9. Not sure how that happens. I tried a set at D2 at the shop and it was night and day for me. I was going to have them send them in to have them fixed, but they said it takes two weeks or more! Any other options? Thanks.

If the irons were built at C9 - that would be out of spec for us (assuming we built everything and installed that grip).  We would recommend having the shop set up the Warranty inspection and repair and if the clubs are out of spec, we would do the work at no charge and two day air the clubs back to you. Please note that all swingweight machines are not calibrated on a timely basis and can be off by 2-3 swingweights.  It will take about 3-4 days in house to re swingweight.

I did have one more question that came up from the fitter/shop. Are you changing the weight by adding a "tip" weight in the hosel/shaft or by replacing the heads? What are the effects of either of these on the center of face/sweet spot at impact? I have heard weight on the head is better than in the shaft.

Hi Mike,  We would be changing the weight using tip weights.  Approximately, 2 grams of head weight will change the swingweight by one.  We have done extensive testing with our players with both heavier heads and tip weights. There were no significant performance differences or perception differences as far as one over the other.

We also build our Tour irons the same way.
