Gary at Augusta CC - UNBELIEVABLE!

I just returned from my club fitting at Augusta CC with Gary and I am ecstatic!  For anybody doubting the value in having a thorough fitting done, I promise you'll never regret it!  Gary took his time and handed me countless club/shaft combos until we narrowed down the best three options based on spin rates, feel, distance, etc..  Next we went out to the turf and checked them on real grass to narrow down the choices further.  In the end, I swung the AP2 with KBS reg flex shafts the best.  This was a surprise to me as I have a 110 mph swing speed with the driver and every other recommendation I've had said I needed stiff flex shafts in my irons!  Next, he quickly found out why I hit my Driver so erratically that I hesitate to pull it out of the bag.  Again, every other "fitting" I've had put me in 9.5 to 10 degree lofts.  He put me in a 12 degree 913 D2 (Diamana Black 62g shaft) for consistent ball flight and 265 yd. carry!

To fill in my yardage gaps, we added the gap Wedge from the AP2 set,  a 56-14, 60-10 in chrome, a 913F 17 degree (Diamana Black 62) and a 712u 3 iron (also the KBS shaft)

I can't remember the last time I hit balls that felt "like butter" and flew like darts!  Now as Tom Petty would say, "The waiting is the hardest part".

Get a fitting from Titleist advanced center...you'll be amazed at what you might find out!

Nice feedback!    I hope mine goes the same way later in the year after the 714's are released.  Good luck with the new sticks!!

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for letting us know what a great session you had with Gary.  We will be sure to let him know!

Thomas,

I couldn't agree more with you! I felt the same way with my fitting at the Manchester Lane in MA facility with Karen! I have never been more consistent and happier to get out on the links since that day! Hard part is waiting for your new clubs to come in!

Enjoy!

Hi Thomas!  I had a fitting session with Gary this past Wednesday, and echo the same things you said here.  I have been fitted for Titleist clubs before but never with the equipment that is available now (launch monitor).  He went through a number of shaft combinations before settling on the right one in both a driver and a set of irons.  Consistency was his goal.  He even taught me a drill to use to keep the club head from coming in from the outside, something I have a tendency to do from time to time.

Like you said the waiting is the hardest part.  Have you received your clubs yet?

Another recommendation for Gary at Augusta CC!  Thank you very much Gary!

Glad to hear that you had a great time. Just wait until you get the clubs!
