    Hats off to Titleist for a GREAT experience during my recent fitting with Steve Ziff at Titleist's Oceanside test facility on August 8:

    • demonstrable results: my existing bag had been fitted by a Titleist Advanced fitter and also by a Golf Magazine Top 100 fitter, but Steve recommended different specs even for static measurements such as iron length and lie -- this surprised me, but trying his recommended club resulted in a visibly tighter dispersion pattern;
    • excellent facility: the practice areas were immaculate as one would expect, but I should also note that the facility is very user friendly throughout, with a locker/shower area and the ability to ship my existing clubs there in advance -- minor points, but useful for those traveling from far away;
    • incredibly courteous: everyone I dealt with, ranging from Steve (for the fitting) to Andy and Cameron (for scheduling and logistics), was extremely courteous and professional throughout -- even when fitting a high-handicapper-yet-experienced-golfer like me;
    • post-fitting follow-up: I have ordered new fairways, a hybrid and wedges thus far, and put my home club in touch with Andy to shepherd the order -- a nice touch that he suggested when emailing me the recommended specs.
    This was a great experience all around -- highly recommended for anyone even remotely considering it.

  2. Glad you enjoyed it! The Titleist Oceanside facility is a golfers "Heaven". I'd pitch a tent and live there if I could.

    I had the same great experience as you when I got fitted at the Oceanside facility a few years ago, looking to go back and recheck my fitting . It truly is an awesome place, with great staff from the receptionist all the way up... Every TT member should try and experience it at least once in their lifetime....Joe

    Ive got a few questions, How long does the fitting take if I want to do the whole bag minus the putter? Also I have to be in San Diego on Sept 5 is there any chance that the new 714's will be there to get fitted on?

    Here is some information on getting fit at Oceanside or Manchester Lane - they will both be fitting for the new irons starting the first week in September.

    We offer three separate fittings:  Driver/Fairway, Hybrid/Irons and a Wedge fit that can be done individually or all together.  Most players that come to our facilities are used to hitting balls and do all three together, but it depends on the individual.   Each fitting takes about an hour (or 3 hrs for the bag, minus putter).  When the fitting is complete, we will email all the details of the fit to you and your pro (if you wish) and you can order your clubs at whatever shop that you choose.  The fitting fee is a fitting fee only and does not go toward the purchase of clubs.  Oceanside fits Monday through Friday at 9am or 1pm.  Manchester Lane fits most weekdays at 9:30am and 1:30pm.  The cost is $250 per fitting or $600 for all three and you can reserve your fitting appointment by calling 1-888-262-7202 and talking with Andy.  At this time, there are openings on September 5th, but you would need to reserve that time by contacting Andy at the above number.

    Hi Cathi, Are these numbers still good for cost? I would like to schedule driver/fairway/hybrid - already have. Irons/wedges. Guess I could recheck my irons just to be sure. Will be driving over from Tucson, so where in Oceanside do you do the fittings? Thanks

    Hi Gordon,

    Yes, the numbers are still valid, but unfortunately, Oceanside is currently reserved for the balance of the year and they are now taking appointments for January.

  10. Just had a fitting with Steve last week and I will agree with your comments! He is awesome!

    I had Cliff last year and he equally did a great job.

    All in all, the facility and staff are the best way to be fitted if you are SERIOUS about taking no shortcuts and having this process as part of determing which equipment to have in your bag.

    Thanks Titleist for offering such a comprehensive option for amateurs, not just tour players!

    Chris

  11. Hi Cathi:

    I will be in San Diego most of March and the beginning of April next year and was curious about getting a fitting. Are the prices listed on this thread current? Is there availability? Also, even if I cannot be fitted, does the Oceanside facility offer any sort of a tour just to check it out?

    Hi Eric,  The cost for a full fitting:  Driver/Fairway, Hybrid/Irons and Wedges is $600.  or $250 per individual fitting segment. There should be plenty of openings in March and April.  Please contact Andy and he can schedule your fitting.  888-262-7202.

    The Oceanside facility is a gated facility and does not offer any tours unless you have a fitting reserved.  They will take you on a short tour when you come in to do your fitting.

  13. Is the fitting cost for a junior the same as listed above ?

    Hi Mike,  Yes, the cost is the same whether it is men, women or juniors.  On juniors, they do need to be at least 5' tall and hitting ladies flexes at minimum.

  15. Hi Cathi,

    I am planning to go to San Diego in May 2016. Would be great to book a fitting at Oceanside. I live in Scotland so was wondering if I could make fitting enquiries via email?

    Kind regards,

    Daniel

  16. Hi Daniel,

    You are able to schedule a fitting at Oceanside or Manchester Lane via email as well as ask any questions you might have about the process. I'm going to send you an offline message with Andy's contact info.

    It really is a cool facility isn't it?.  I got fitted there a couple years ago for 910's and it couldn't have been a better experience. Made a couple great friends from the experience as well. Anyone who's looking to get fitted and can make the trip to Oceanside, it's worth the price 10x over.

    I know exactly how you felt, having been lucky enough to visit the Manchester Lane facility twice now (the last time earlier this month in fact). I cannot say enough great things about Karen and Troy whom I had the pleasure of working with and could not agree more with your comments! You definitely get what you pay for and and my game has improved with my Titleist bag, no doubt about it.

    It is funny when you tell people about where you got fitted and why and usually by the time I am done, they have the deer in the headlights look in amazement of the technology and expertise used! Manchester Lane is great too as they have the robotic ball tester and they let you observe for a bit while they take you thru the facility tour. Nothing beats the experience and so glad that you got to experience it yourself!

    Enjoy the new clubs! My 2 new SM5 wedges came in and I thought that the SM4 wedges were good...these are even better! Am waiting for my hybrid and driver, but I am counting down the days for sure!!

    I definitely agree with the awesome nature of how technology is used to improve club fitting. I had never had clubs fitted by a professional with 40 years experience in the game. For example, I had been loaned irons, which I liked, but kept using my 18 year old clubs for the past two months. I'd been having trouble getting off the tee with any success with my bubble shaft TM driver. Handed a proper Titleist 915 during the fitting, I hit four very good drives in a row! I was awed by that experience. That sold me on the Titleist set--as well as on my fitting pro.
  20. That all sounds great I am trying to find out how to set up an appointment to get fit for a new driver at this facility. If anyone that can point me in the right direction I would be very appreciative. Thanks Jared

    Cool story Potomac, seems like from everyone that have been it is a dream experience!!!  Color me jealous!!

    Jealous as well here!

    I'd love to do this and didn't know it was an option until recently. I already have the 714 AP2s, I'm going to a Titleist Fitting day to get fitted for the 915s tomorrow. (Have the 913s now)

    Not sure what to do.

    Is a Titleist Fitting day way too basic, or should they have a Trackman or Flightscope there? (I've never been to one, just a Demo Day)

    Any advice would be appreciated. I'm a decent way from Oceanside and not sure if it makes sense to go until I need a full set. I could just imagine a new fitting make me hate my current (and brand new) set!

    Thanks!
