Hi Matt, If your shop orders the driver at 44.5" with a plus D 72 shaft, stock grip, and D4 swingweight, we will use a 14 gram weight to achieve that swingweight. There is no upcharge to do so, but your shop will have to specify that swingweight when ordering.
Cathi, Titleist Club ConciergeHi Matt, If your shop orders the driver at 44.5" with a plus D 72 shaft, stock grip, and D4 swingweight, we will use a 14 gram weight to achieve that swingweight. There is no upcharge to do so, but your shop will have to specify that swingweight when ordering.
Standard swingweight is D4 with that shaft, grip and at standard length.
I also ordered a 913 D3 w/Diamana D+72 stiff shaft and Tour Velvet Cord 580 grip with 2 papers.
Except I requested it be 44" and to maintain the standard swing weight?
But when I just tried to calculate the swing weight for it, it came up as D1 borderline D2?
It came with the 14g weights, so I"m just wondering what has happened?
When you cut a shaft from 45" to 44", you will lose 5-6 swingweights depending on the balance of the shaft. In head weight (to balance), that would equate to about 12 grams of additional weight. The maximum swingweight we could achieve with a 44" Plus white 72 shaft and a cord grip was D1. If you would like to get your swingweight higher, you will need to find a grip that weighs about 10 grams less that you currently have.
Thank you Cathi and Matt for your responses.
I'm liking the idea of the Winn dry-tac wrap lite (22gr standard or 23 grams 1/16"), hopefully this can give me that hammerhead feel that I have been searching for.
I tried it with my old R11s but with that I added aftermarket weights to the head to achieve that, where I thought you could do the same with the D3, but never thought to just change the grip.... (and realised you can't get weight higher than 14gr)
Thanks again for all your help :)
