This is probably a pretty basic question - I was fit for new AP2's at an advanced fitting center. The data indicated that I needed a 64 degree lie on a 6 iron. When i ordered them through my club pro, he asked for a lie angle. There was no lie lie angle in the data printout, so I called the fitter. He said it was 2 degree. I passed this along to the pro for his use in ordering the clubs. Question - are the two pieces of information interchangeable? Which items should the pro have passed along to Titleist when he ordered the clubs

Thank you for clearing this up for me

  2. Both are right in this sense, it would however depend on what lie angle each company decides to use as std. If a company was standard 6i lie of 61* then it would be three up. The fitter is giving you a measurement that can be applied to various brands while your pro is looking for the one that is easiest to convey to the people at Titleist

Hi Bob,  We do our fitting off of 6 iron specs.  The standard lie angle for our 6 iron is 62.5°.  If your fitter was using a 5 iron, then the standard lie angle would be 62° and 64° would indicate the lie should be bent 2° more upright.
