Are Very Tall Golfers......

    .....limited to png irons if they want a true fit? I am 6'7" and have been playing with a custom set of Tommy Armour 845's that were custom built for me when I was in college (25 years,45 lbs., and 2 inches of height ago...). Even though I am playing with ancient (relatively) clubs, I have stuck with them because I still hit them as far as I did 20 years ago and I still score relatively well for as much/little as I play. I had a guy try to fit me the other day and he kept telling me that png was the only manufacturer that would be able to fit me accurately despite my desire to get into a set of Titleist 714 CB's, because of their similarity to the 845s. I have never liked anything png makes, mostly because they have no feel whatsoever. Am I out of luck? Can Titleist fit a golfer of my height?

    My irons are currently set up as follows:

    2 degrees upright

    1 1/4 inches long

    Rifle Project X 6.5 shafts

    Im 6'4" and I just play 690 mb now but looking to possibly get into a custom fit set of 714 AP2 and I got fitted and my specs are pretty close to yours. 4 Degrees upright 1" Long X100 Shaft

    Obviously you would want to go get fitted again since you said you've grown since you got your 845s, but those specs don't seem so outrageous enough to limit your clubs.

    Right. I'm certain that my current setup is not a good fit for me. As I've grown older and less flexible, my divots have grown deeper on the toe end of the club head, which is a telltale sign. Thanks for the information! I'll see about setting up an appointment.

    i had the same problem you have. end of club head and deeper divots. i ordered by custom ap2s yesterday, cant wait to get them in!!!

    Frank, I am 6'-6" and I am on my second set of Titleist AP2's and they always are able to customize for us tall players no problem!

    My boyfriend is 6'5" and he had to get his clubs 2 inches longer above standard. Titleist is very eager to customize clubs and work with any height! My AP2s are standard length and work just fine for me since I'm 5'9" :)

    Hi Frank,  Yes, we can build irons that are 1.25" long and 2° up.   We have several Advanced Fitters in your area.  Jimmy Harris is at Atlantic Athletic Club - His number is 770-368-7758.  Chris Moulder is at Capital City Club - 404.231.6939 and Mike Berning is at Marietta Country Club - 770.426.7084.  They may not have a selection at 1" long or longer, but if they contact us at Team Titleist, we can get some shafts to them for your scheduled fitting.
