  1. I have a Titlest 975 driver with an Aldial nv 65 stiff shaft which I love. I am interested in a buying a 910 D3 driver. What shaft setup would be comparable with the Aldila nv65. David

Hi David,  The Aldila NV 65 is still offered for the 910's so you can get the same shaft if you would like..  Another shaft that would be similar would be the DI 6, but it carries a larger upcharge.

  3. Hi Cathi,

Broke my D3 (72 'ahina) while on my way back from Scotland. In the interim have been swinging an old Callaway with the Aldila NVS 55-S 350. Have been hitting it further, higher and straighter than the D3. However, I don't think its because of the head but the shaft. Is there a comparable shaft I can get for my D3? I think I'm looking for something light, 50-60 grams, stiff and with a low kick point. What do you think?

How much would it cost and how to I get it?

    Thanks for your help,

    -Chris

Hi Chris,  We offer the NV55, but not the NVS 55.  The difference is that the NVS had a little softer tip although it sounds like it was a .350 instead of a .335 tip which is what we use.  We do offer shafts in the 50-60 gram range including the Motore F1 55, the DI5, the Ilima 61 (weighs 58 in a stiff), the V2 55 and we will be offering the Blur005 and our new Wyvern 50 which we all tried last Friday in an internal demo day.  Our group has a full range of swingspeeds and we carry the Wyvern from L to X flex so everyone was able to try out a shaft.  If you are looking for very lightweight, you might want to check that out.

  5. Thanks Cathi...

So looking for the best high kick pt, stiff but light shaft, you would recommend the Wyvern? Where can I purchase these and how much do they cost?

Thanks again for your help, need this shaft by Friday, heading back to Scotland!!

Hi Chris, None of these shafts are a high kick point shaft, including the NVS.  At best, they are a mid flex point shaft.  The least expensive of the shafts would be the Wyvern, but it is a low kick point (flex) shaft, the Ilima which is a low-mid kick point shaft.  or the V2 55 shaft which is a mid kick point shaft.  They are also the only ones that we have here and can build in a couple of days.  I don't know what part of the country you are in, but you would need your pro shop (local golf shop) to call and order it right today and express ship it if you are planning to leave Friday.

  7. Thanks...I meant lowest kick point (I want to hit the ball high).

What's the best low kick pt (want to stay away from low/mid), stiff but light shaft, the Wyvern? Can give me your top 3?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to get it right.  Am in NY and will have my pro call in asap.

    Thanks for all your help,

    Chris

The lowest kickpoint shaft would be the Wyvern - It is also very light and will build at about a D1.  That is the only shaft we offer with a low kick point.  Do you know what your swingspeed/ballspeed, spin and launch are with your 910 or your Callaway?

  9. My swing speed is between 107-110 (can't remember spin rate or bspeed). I play to a 2 hdcp though. That being said, something about this shaft that is just so different from the ahina, doesn't feel like a telephone pole. Allows me two whip it through the zone yet maintain club head control through impact.

That speed sounds a little high for a Wyvern.  We have players here with that same clubhead speed with about 160-165 ball speed and the shaft was playable, but a little soft and light.  Others thought that they could feel the head wiggling and preferred a shaft that stayed with them more.  We do have the Wyvern shaft in an X flex which may be better or you can tip the stiff up to 1/12"  if you are sure that you want something that light and flexible.  The other option would be the V2 57 which is more similar to an NV55 (a little firmer than the NVS 55, but the same weight).

    Hi Davide,

The numbers don't quite add up.  I would recommend going to see a fitter in Italy and am going to forward your email to our European Acushnet so that they can contact you regarding fitters.

  13. Hi Cathi,

What is the DI 6?  I was at a fitting this weekend but did not feel ultra comfortable with the feel of the club at all.  I only hit 3 shafts (Fubuki, Ahina, Kai'li) and no launch monitor?  How do you get fitted and not use the monitor?  I was at the CGC fall demo day yesterday.

Hi Ray,  The DI6 was the updated, lower spinning, slightly firmer YS 6 by Graphite Design.  I am not sure why you only hit three shafts, but they did have a launch monitor and the DI 6 there to try.

I was thinking about an Aldila NVS 55 reg flex. I'm 50 with a swing speed that is 77mph. Steep descent that produces a low drive of about 239 yards. Does this sound right? Is it available and is there an additional charge on the 913?
