  1. Wow!  I had the best time at my club fitting this morning at the test facility in Oceanside, CA.  I was told prior to going that I would not be disappointed and they were spot on.  I think everyone knows that Titleist has some great equipment but what stood out today was the outstanding customer service that came with the fitting.  I cannot remember the last time that I had that level of service from a company.  I am looking forward to ordering the new clubs and getting them into the bag.  Thanks again for everything, I highly recommend the trip to Oceanside to visit the facility.  It made me feel like a pro for the day, even though I swing like a chump!    Thanks!

As a two time attendee of the Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, I can say without hesitation that it is the greatest non-golf course golf experience I have ever had. A two day experience (twice)  gave me more to work on off the course and knowing I was fitted perfectly with clubs, the gaps within my bag managed and the ball that was perfect for me.  I learned an incredible amount about how the condition of your body (flexible here, not flexible there) affect the golf swing and how that translates into my misses.  The wedge fitting was an hour of hitting every shot you can imagine to lasered distances was a confidence boost when I went home.  Layered upon all of that was the most exceptional customer service I have ever received.  There was not a person at the TPI who wasn't considerate, expert, focused and just plain pleasant.  Every single person whom I encountered went above and beyond the norm.  I could name names, but that would diminish the effect of the whole, which was staggeringly good.  This organization is staffed with professionals at whatever they do, whether it's Greg and Dave or the limo driver.  One experience of note as an example of how good they are at meeting the needs of their customers:  I love first generation hybrid, the 503H.  My fitter found I hit the newer hybrid family further, with higher flight and softer landing.  So instead of getting rid of a club I love and hit well that was the victim of better technology, he bent the 503H weaker and turned it into my 4 iron.  Problem solved.  This place looks for solutions to the whole person (what you like as well as what the numbers say, how your physical constitution can help you get the most out your on course time).  This place is great, made more so by the people who work there.

    Hey Cliff,

Thanks for sharing your experience at the TPI facility in Oceanside.  I've been trying to get them to call me back for weeks now to schedule a fitting visit.  How did you go about setting up your fitting?  Was it through email or phone?  I'm really interested in getting this setup sooner rather than later, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi Cathi, Would you be able to let me know if the TPI offer fitness evaluations and workout programs to the public - such as what was offered in the 2-day Experiences that Clifford mentions in this thread?

Hi Joseph,  The only TPI days that they are going to offer in 2012 are two days and for 6 players. Due to their heavy travel schedule,  they are not taking individual appointments any longer and will only do groups of 6.  It includes a complete clubfitting, all clubs, fitting evaluation, workout program, and swing recommendations.

General Services included in 2 Day TPI Experience:* $4,250 per player* Include any clubs you need (up to 14 clubs)* Complete Exercise Program Design and Practice Workout Session
Day One Activities (9:00AM - 4:00PM):* Test of 3D and Full Analysis* Physical Evaluation* Exercise and Swing Recommendations* Complete Club Fitting (with the exception of putting)
Day Two Activities (9:00AM - 12:00PM):* Full Swing Recommendations and Range Time

Cathi, Can you give me an idea how far in advance one needs to schedule a session in Oceanside? Also, the process. Since I am coming such a long distance, would like to go thru the full program including wedges, and even putter fitting (though I do not believe you do that onsite). Is it possible to coordinate with the Scotty Cameron facility? I understand it is in the same general area? Think it might be time for new equipment and general updating. Thanks, Tom Worley 205-960-1159

Hi Tom, Oceanside only conducts club fitting now - the TPI evaluations are not offered at this time.

We offer driver/fairway, hybrid/iron, and a wedge fitting.  Each individual fitting takes one hour and you can schedule all three in one day.  Allow about 3 and a half hours for the full bag fitting (minus the putter).  You can coordinate a putter fitting at the Scotty Cameron Gallery on the same day.  You can schedule the putter fitting in the morning and then have lunch and drive up to the Oceanside test facility for a full club fitting from 1-4pm.  Let them know at the Gallery (when you schedule your fitting)  as you will need to have enough time (2 hours for fitting) for you to be fit, have lunch, and drive up and warm up before 1pm.  The cost for the full club fitting is $600.00 and the cost for the Putter fitting at the Gallery is $350.00.  Right now, we are scheduling club fittings for middle to end of March, but, the Gallery is already booked till mid April.  Here is some information on Gallery fitting:  http://www.scottycameron.com/gallery/

Cathi, great information!  just a random thought, while to many TT members this will be convenient I would have you consider breaking the two sessions (SC and TPI) into two different days.  Personally, I did the back to back sessions a couple months ago on one day and I felt slightly rushed (not too mention tired) getting it all done.  It is a lot to take in!

    Just a thought...!  Enjoy!!

Hi Chris,  I would tend to agree.  Getting fit at both places in one day is a lot to handle and it takes focus to hit that many balls and putt for that long.  Two days would be ideal!

I can't overstate what a great experience it is. I did my fitting at Oceanside in January. I ordered a full bag of new clubs last week. I can't wait for them to get in even though those of us in Minnesota will be hitting golf balls inside for many weeks to come. But I'm hoping I might get back to California in March for a preseason warmup. Thanks. J.A.C.

I performed a fitting center search here on the website and don't come up with any fitting center in Oceanside, Ca. What is the name of the facility and please provide contact information.

This is our Oceanside Tour facility - we have two tour facilities in the country and both are open for consumers to be fit.  The other is in Massachusetts and will not open until mid April.

Oceanside only conducts club fitting now - the TPI evaluations are not offered at this time.

We have a state of the art facility in Oceanside with fairways, greens, and our wedge and bunker area where Bob Vokey does his work with players.  We use a Trackman launch monitor to gap and check numbers so that you can be assured that you have the correct club selection and our fitters are the same ones that work with our Tour players so they are very experienced.  The Test facility has all the heads that we offer and most of the shafts in our custom booklet::

    http://media.titleist.com/images/titleist/pdfs/US/2015/Custom_Club_Options.pdf

We offer three separate fittings:  Driver/Fairway, Hybrid/Irons and a Wedge fit that can be done individually or all together.  Most players that come to our facilities are used to hitting balls and do all three together, but it depends on the player.   Each fitting takes about an hour (or 3 hrs for the bag, minus putter).  When the fitting is complete, we will email all the details of the fit to you and your pro (if you wish) and you can order your clubs at whatever shop that you choose.  The fitting fee is a fitting fee only and does not go toward the purchase of clubs.  Oceanside fits Monday through Friday at 9am or 1pm. The cost is $250 per individual fitting or $600 for all three and you can reserve your fitting appointment by calling 1-888-262-7202 and talking with Andy  There are no monies taken at the Tour Facility, so when the reservation is made, we will take a credit card and it gets invoiced about 10 days prior to your appointment.  The fee is non refundable, but we can reschedule should there be an emergency.

Right now, we are scheduling club fittings for middle to end of April, but, the Gallery is already booked even further out so you will have to check with them first. 15. Is there any difference between the Oceanside fitting and the fitting received at the Regional centers like the Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas?

    Dave,

Thanks for sharing your experience at the Oceanside facility.  I've been trying to get them to call me back for weeks now, and I haven't heard back at all.  How did you go about scheduling your fitting?  Did you call or email?  Perhaps you could throw me a contact name, because I'm really interested in setting something up.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Roland
