Hi,

I'm in the process of upgrading from a 907 D2 / 9.5 / Proforce V2 66 S Flex to a 910 D2 / 9.5 / Project X 7C3 6.0. I'm a serious golfer with a 2 index, and naturally hit the ball right to left. My issue is that I'll occasionally hit the ball "too" far left into nearly a hook. I was hoping that the adjustable settings on the 910 could help me tighten the dispersion along with a ball position tweak.

The Project X 7C3 shaft was based on fitting at Golfsmith. I then had the opportunity of fitting with a Titleist rep at a demo day. He recommend the Ahina 72 X, which I hit better but was disappointed with the feel and still not 100% satisfied. I'm looking for something similar to the Ahina 72 X with a feel closer to the Project X 7 series. I would consider going with another V2 but it always feels like I'm trying to "work" that shaft.

Also, the reason I chose the D2 over the D3 is purely in the visual address.

Details - 910 D2 / 9.5 Degree / Project X 7C3 6.0 / C1 & B1 Settings

Ball Speed - 165-175

Swing Speed - 110-115

Spin - 3200-3700 (High I know...)

Launch - 12-13

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I've been curious about trying out a Rombax, or moving into a 7.0 rated Project X.

[/quote]

Hi Shane, We were playing with shaft feel last week and took out many of the stiff and X flex shafts that we have here. A couple of the guys with about 165 ball speed that liked totally different feels in their shafts were testing shafts with different bend profiles and tip flexes.. We brought a launch monitor to check launch and spin. One was high launch, high spin and the other was standard launch, high spin. Ball is going to play a part and loft of head will play another part.

But, just looking at the shafts, one of the guys played an Ahina 72 and liked the feel of a stiffer tipped shaft and the way it loaded and the other played a Kiyoshi 65.and like to feel the tip more.

You might want to try the DI7 or 8 in Stiff and X flexes which the player that liked the stiff tip went for because he liked the way it loaded, and he could still feel the head. Lowered the spin from 3000 to 2500 or so. The other liked the feel of the lighter weight DI shaft, the RIP'd NV, but ultimately stuck with the Kiyoshi. We tested VC 7.2 X, RIP 70, 80, Devotions, V2's, Ahina 70, RIP beta 70.Kai'li 70, Alpha, K, plus all our stock shafts. The PX is another choice, but we didn't test it that day as it was out with a fitter.

Re: 910 D2 Shaft Fitting Issue

Shane:
