As I await the ability to order some 913 gear - I'm looking at options re:shafts.

I have a 910D3 8.5 with Oban Devotion 6, tipped 1", set at A2 - i love it.  Gone are any ballooning issues that i once had.  I also have a 910Fd 15 with stock ahina, tipped 1/2" - which i am even more fond of.  Only problem being - if i gas it, or my tempo gets quick - i can balloon this club a bit.

I've been reading about the new Diamana D+.  I'm curious if this will be a stock option in the 913 series?

Also, have been contemplating putting the Oban Devotion shaft in the fairway (and hybrid too?) - since it's been it so good to me in the driver.  I'm concerned that it won't be as effective in the Fd or H.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

    Matt,

The new Diamana D+ series (also considered the White +) will be a stock offering in the 913.  It will also be the after market version (not made exclusively for Titleist).  This shaft will play closer to the original White Board, which may be good for players who are currently playing the Ahina.

Knowing that the Oban Devotion gives you a good ball flight with your driver, this may not be a bad option for your 910Fd, assuming you are using it more from the tee.  If you do tend to use the 910Fd from the fairway, you may need to consider a more playable trajectory that launches higher then your driver when approaching greens.  The Oban Devotion isn't currently offered in the hybrid through our matrix of custom shafts, but also consider the same ball flight characteristic when looking at your hybrids.

This question pertains more to Driver shafts; will the Matrix X3 "White Tie" be offered for any of the 913 line-up as a custom (up-charge) option?

Thanks for the reply and information.  I need help keeping ball flight down and reducing spin - i think thats why the devotion works well for me.

When you say that the White + plays closer to the original white board - are you saying it's lower spin, lower launch than the Ahina - or higher?  I had a White board a few years back - felt stiffer than the Ahina - slightly less prone to ballooned flight.  Still, if i put a little more into it or get handsy i spin/balloon it.

I've read that the 910 driver shafts will be compatible with 913 heads, but that the fairways and hybrids will be different.  Can you help clear this up?

I might be inclined to order a shaft or two now - ahead of time - i.e. the devotion shaft in my 910Fd.  Do I need to be playing a heavier shaft than the Devotion 6 in the Fd - isn't that typical - that Fw get a heavier shaft?

Last follow-up question: Any idea on timing of an updated "Custom Club Options" shafts matrix?

Thanks again for the support.  Best in the industry, thats why it's my entire bag!

Well I was told by my fitter today, that the S+ and D+ shafts were just slightly cheaper versions on the 'non made for' Pukka Kaili and Ahina's. The cost of the Kaili and Ahina was fairly cost prohibitive, so Mitsubishi simply wanted a shaft with similar bend profiles to the Kaili and Ahinas, but wanted something a little more affordable, so they have launched the S+ and D+ which satisfies that brief.

At least that's what I was told by my fitter today, so don't shoot the messenger guys!
