I recently purchased a used set of 712 AP2's. They have a serial number on all irons and I was wondering if this means that the are a custom set and how would I find out what the exact specs were?

    Richard,

Serial # on all the irons would mean it was a custom set.  Feel free to contact Team Titleist at 1-888-TITLEIST to check any specs associated with that serial #.

  3. Cameron,

I purchased a set of custom AP2's from a reputable club fitter in Chicago but I only have a serial number on the 6 iron.  I understand that this would mean that the clubs are "off the rack".  What happened?  Shouldn't each club have a serial number on the hosel given the custom fitting?  Thanks for your reply.

    Ernie,

I would talk to the Club Fitter and see if he did any custom changes to the set in the golf shop (ie lie angle bend).  I'm not sure what you were fit for, but the stock set may have been exactly what you were fit for.  Please let us know if we can assist or you have any other questions regarding your set.

    Clayton,

If there is a serial # on each hosel, there was something that made that set custom when originally built.  If you would like us to check what might be custom with those irons, give us a call at 1-888-TITLEIST.

Last Year, I was fitted at the Ocean side facility, when I purchased my custom 712 AP2's from my local pro, they were not stamped with a serial number but instead with my last name on the each hosel. I thought this was a nice touch from Titleist. The only thing I would think that would be a problem is if I ever try to sell them, is explaining the lack of serial numbers on the clubs.

  8. Thank you
They were bent 2* up and input mid size grips on.
I thought a custom set would have a serial # on each club but I guess the "custom" part of it comes with determining the club and shaft type moreso than recreating a custom club.
I ordered the 3 iron separately and it does have an engraved serial #.
