Getting fit at expo?

I've been using the same clubs as when I first started golf and I'm looking to upgrade my equipment soon.

I was thinking about getting a reservation to get fit for a Titleist iron set and maybe some wedges at the Haggin Oaks Golf Expo coming up at the end of April 2013. It costs $25 to get fit but it is refunded if you end up buying something. It seems like a good deal but I'm wondering if it's better to just get fit on another day. Is there any particular advantage getting fit at this expo?

I understand this is a huge expo so I don't want someone who is going to rush through my fitting so they can get to the next person. Also, I know it is a PGA Tour Van Fitting so will the person fitting me be a rep from Titleist who will really know a lot about the brand or will they be unaffiliated with any particular brand? Is this superior to the fitting they'd normally do at a course? Haggin Oaks has a Titleist fitter on staff anyway so does it make a difference to do it in the PGA Tour Van? Finally, I know a lot of other brands tend to have special deals if you buy during demo-days and expos. Does Titleist do that as well or is it the same price as always?

Any insight into these questions would be appreciated.

It is a great opportunity to be fit by our FittingWorks Van at $25.00 - the normal price is $150 per hour.  The fitter is a Titleist employee and an expert in fitting as well as all our equipment.  As far as pricing on clubs that day, that will be decided by Haggin Oaks.

Thanks for the info Cathi. I did go ahead and sign up to be fit at the Expo a few weeks ago after reading your response. However, I just got a call saying that Titleist has decided to shorten all their fittings from an hour to only half an hour. Still costing me $25 however. I have to say I'm a little disappointed with that news...

Hi Jason,  The demand was such that they decided to use 1/2 hour increments for each fitting, although you can book more than one slot.  The cost is $25.00 per time period, but the money is refunded if you purchase the clubs you were fit for.

Just an update, got a call from Haggin Oaks very soon after posting saying that Titleist contacted them and offered to extend my fitting time back to an hour. Can't express how impressed I am with the level of customer service Titleist offers. I even got an email from the local sales rep. explaining the situation and assuring me of my fitting. Making the jump to Titleist is looking like a better and better idea.

Ordered clubs at the expo but I wasn't given any tracking info. Any idea how long it usually takes to receive club orders?

Contact Haggin Oaks - they will be able to give you a estimated ship date.  If we have all the components in stock, it will take 2-3 days to build once we receive the order and 2 days to ship to northern CA.
