I currently have a 910D2 with a Diamana Ilima 61 mid-high (red) shaft. This shaft works pretty well for me. I was wondering which shaft would be similar for a 913D2 in either Stock or Upgrade?

    Thanks, Marc

    Marc,

That shaft can still be ordered in your 913D2.  The Bassara W 55 would be another close option, but does promote a slightly higher ball flight.

    Hi Cameron,
Thanks for the quick reply. I realized however that maybe I should have provided a little more info when asking my question.
The 910d2 I'm using now is 9.5 degrees, I am 66 and my swing speed is typically around 90.
I tend to hit the ball high, so when I went to the Ilima, I was looking for lower ball flight and less spin.
Would this info change your suggestion or would there possibly be an upgrade shaft that would give a little more ball speed.
I appreciate that you can't do a total club fitting online, but I would appreciate your comments.
    Thanks,
    Marc

    Marc,

The Ilima would promote a higher ball flight with high spin.  If you are searching for more of a lower ball flight and lower, then the Ilima, I would consider the Diamana D+ White or even the S+ Blue.  These are stock options in the 913 metal woods.  The Diamana D+ White will promote the lower ball flight and less spin then the S+ Blue, but will play firmer in the tip section.  Both are designed to promote a lower trajectory and lower spin then the Ilima.

    Marc -

You can just purchase any of the stock shafts for 913 for your 910 driver - the driver shafts are interchangable.  I'm about the same as you (63/89) with the 10.5 driver and Ilima R flex.  I've set it back to 9.75 to drop the launch a little.  I did try a 9.5 at 10.25 913 with the Diamina S+ Blue and the numbers were better than my 910 Ilima or the 913 with the Bassara.  This was indoors at a retail location.  Will be going outdoors to an Advanced Center to see if shaft or club replacement is in order.  The S+ Blue looks to be in the $150 range as a shaft only (depending on shop pricing).

    Hi Don,

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. It's always useful to be able to share someone 's experience.

For myself I opted with the 9.5 figuring I could move up to 11 if need and I felt the 10.5 would limit me to going to only 9.75.

I would be very interested in your experience at the outdoor Advanced Center.

I did try the 913 with my own Ilima shaft but the experience wasn't compelling enough to upgrade to 913 which is why I'm researching alternate shafts.

So right now, I am leaning towards to S+ Blue.

    Regards,

    Marc

    Hi Cameron,

    Thanks for the information.

Unfortunately, I live in an area where it's difficult/impossible to try out different shafts which explains all my questions.

    Thanks for your help.

In the meantime, I am enjoying my 910; just looking for reason to upgrade and improve performance:)

    Regards,

    Marc
