  1. I have been agonizing over shaft length and club selection for ever.  I really like the AP 1.  However, I completed a fitting using the tour edge xcg6 irons.  Can i transfer the fit specs to the AP 1 irons?  Also are your graphite shafts same std length as your steel shafts?

    thanks for any help.

  2. Hi Tim...

I would not do this!  Titleist uses the Tour AD shaft by Graphite Design.  I think this is one of the better "stock" shafts available.

I would have them custom fit by a Titleist fit specialist that can switch out all of the different shaft flexes they offer.  I am having trouble right now because my AP1's have the regular Tour AD 65i's and I am thinking that I might need the next stiffer shaft or even need to make the move back to a regular steel shaft like the Project X 5.0.

That is why I am heading to a Titleist fitting specialist (and not the ones at a golf retailer!! The ones at a golf club, with a launch monitor and where I can hit balls outside and see the ball flight!).

And I believe that the shaft lengths in the steel and the graphite are the same (i.e. 7 iron is 37" in both shafts).

    Good luck with everything!!

    God bless, Todd

Todd is right, our graphite length is the same as our steel length.  If you would like the reommendation for a fitter in your area, let us know where you are located - or you can call us at 1-888-TITLEIST (888-848-5347)

  4. Cathy, Yes a recommendation for a good Titleist fitter would be appreciated.  I actually talked to and hit AP1 irons with stock graphite at a demo day at Ravenwood Golf Club in Victor NY.  However we did not dial in on lie and length but did determine 1 or 2 strong on loft.  The gentleman is located in Canandaigua NY.  Thank you for your prompt response.

  6. Any idea on a good low spin/medium-high launch shaft in X-Stiff  for my new titleist driver?    I have a problem with too much spin rates, but my launch angle is lower than I want.       Would it make sense to get a low-spin shaft (that also tend to be low launch), and combining a higher lofted driver head - say 10.5 vs. my current 9.5 head?      Thanks!
