Need the help of Team Titleist - My driver swing speed ranges from 88 - 90 mph with a spin rate of 1800 - 2000 rpm using the 913D2 with Titleist Bassara stock regular flex shaft. A1 setting produces the best results from Trackman outdoors. Are there any other shaft recommendations to increase spin, other than potentially an A flex in the same shaft?

For reference, I am a relatively short distance player and play to a low single digit handicap playing in lots of tournaments competing favorably (short game is my strength) - ideally, I would like a little more carry.

Hi,  Distance is a combination of carry and roll and at your speed, depending on launch angle, you should be getting a lot of roll out of your driver.  You can increase your carry distance by increasing your spin to 2000-2400 and should be able to maintain your roll and get more carry.  Players with moderate speeds need to get a lot of roll as well as carry to get optimal distance.  You don't say what your launch angle is or your descent angle or what ball you hit.  If you like the feel of your shaft, are not launching it too high, you may be able to achieve what you are looking for by switching to a ProV1 ball.

    Cathi, Thanks.

Launch angle is in the 14-15 degree range, descent angle is ~29 adn I use the Pro V1 - I do get a lot of roll with the driver set-up I describe. I woudl like to increase spin to increase carry. My goal is to increase carry some while maintaining roll. I appreciate total distance may not improve materially, but increasing carry could help on certain holes/course.

Are there other shaft suggestions since settings on driver are not achieving the desired result. Thanks

You are already hiting one of the highest spinning shafts we offer, but, our testing is on a robot and it can differ with each individual player.  You can possibly try the A flex to see if it spins more without causing more dispersion for you.  Or shafts like the Ilima 61 or the Phenom 50 or the +S 62 in an A flex - all are standard shafts.  If you want to try some exotics, you can try the DI 5, or the Fubuki K or Alpha as well as the DJ shafts.  The other adjustment you can try is to move up the loft to see if you can add spin without adding more launch.

It sounds like you are working with a fitter in Birmingham, but if not, we have several good fitters in the Birmingham area including Brian, Scott and Darrell over at Greystone Golf and CC - 205.986.5126 or Troy or Foster over at Inverness Country Club - 205.991.8610.

Using Trackman at my local club and I know the Titleist rep for Alabama pretty well.

I have already tried loft and more fade bias, as well as loft and fade bias combined to increase spin - it did increase some, but results were not as good as A1 setting. By process of elimination, I have concluded it then must be the shaft - that is, shaft is the only other way to potentially increase spin. Do you believe the A flex is a better fit than the regular (I am skeptical)? I could rationalize that if it were the Phenom or 'ilima as those are a little heavier adna  little less spin on the robot relative to the Bassara.

Any help you can provide would be very beneficial. Lastly if I were to try the A flex in either the Bassara, 'ilima or Phenom, where can I obtain a shaft of each to put in my head - my experience is that teh shaft options in fitting carts is limited, especially in teh A flex range, if at all. Would the Alabama rep have them in their "quiver" of shafts for fitting.

Please help! I desparately want to kepe teh Titleist in the bag and don't want to lose carry/said differently.....i want to increase carry. Thanks for your help.

Hi,  Not sure that an A flex will be better for you, but, you had asked about it in your first post and since you have tried many combinations, it couldn't hurt to try it.  I have spoken with our rep and he is going to contact you to see about adding spin to get more carry.
