Today I went to a local demo day at the Swanson's Golf Center on the north side of Houston. Every major club manufacturer was in attendance. When I arrived I walked past everyone and headed straight for the Titleist tent to test out the highly anticipated AP2 irons. These irons were absolutely amazing. Crisp and solid feeling with excellent feedback. Coming from an 712 AP1 iron I could feel the slight similarity in forgiveness but the AP2 offered more playability feedback. Meaning I could really feel the off hits and could feel more of the club head at impact, more so than my AP1's.
Dan (Titleist Rep) was excellent to work with and really took the time and energy to make sure everyone had what they needed and was spot on when offering changes in club options. It seemed as though Dan had almost every possible custom shaft option available which was very cool. I really felt like it was a good experience to spend time playing various club options rather than walking into a big box store and them trying to push me to off the rack set's.
All-in-all I walked away with a cool experience and even better, a happy customer. I special ordered the 714 AP2 irons with KBS Tour C-Taper Stiff Shafts 4-PW and subbed out the GW for a new Vokey SM4 50-08 wedge.
Should go nicely with my Titleist Staff Stand Bag with embroidered TT logo on the front. :)
Anyway Thank you Titleist for making a great product, and Thank you Dan for spending the time with me to get me what I need.
