Fixing the pull hook of my upright irons

  1. I recently got fitted for a pair of titleist ap1 golf irons with s300 shafts in the clubs. I bought because I needed an upgrade from my worn out cally x-20 irons with unifilex shafts. I was so excited to use my irons hoping that it would give my game that extra push to shoot under par consistently, but sadly that wasn't the case. I have been constantly pull hooking my irons. I was fitted for my irons with a three degree upright setting with everything else normal. I was just wondering what is the best way to correct this issue?

    Thank you,

    Mitch

    Hi Mitchell,

    Thanks for the post.

Sorry to hear you haven't been striking the irons as well as you had hoped. There could be many factors causing the pull hook including swing and the lie angle. 3 degrees UP will typically promote more of a draw. If you continue to struggle with the pull hooks, I would suggest seeing a local fitter and trying a flatter lie angle, i.e. Std or even FLAT. This may help.

Let us know how it works out.
