I recently had a driver fitting and was fitted for a 9.5 degree 913D2- UST Proforce v2 76g stiff shaft. My swing speed is 110 and I have hit an x shaft for the past several years and my irons are x shafts. The club fitter told me that swing speed does not matter as much as the flex point and other factors. Can I benefit from a stiff shaft vs. an x flex shaft and is this the right shaft for my swing speed? Thanks.

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for the post.

When looking for the right shaft for your swing, you should not focus on whether a shaft is R, S, or X.  Those are arbitrary letters that are used to classify shafts within a line or company. Your fitter was right, focus on kick point, weight, torque, feel and dispersion. There is no right shaft for a given swing speed. If the launch conditions were ideal and the feel was good with the V2 76 (S), I would strongly suggest getting that shaft.

    Hope this helps.

    Jason,

    I second what Bubba wrote.

That ProForce is a different shaft than many others in that exotic category so it totally makes sense (knowing as much as what you wrote) that a stiff in that would be your best fit.

If you have doubt you can always try the X Stiff in that ProForce but my guess is you'll like that Stiff more. That X Stiff is pretty stout.

You need to hit both on a launch monitor and see which one works better for you and more consistently so.
