I was recently fit for 714 AP2 irons. Based on the fitting, I need standard length and shaft but lie angle adjusted 2 degrees upright. I am aware that AP2 heads are manufactured in standard lie and 2 degrees upright. I am able to order the standard lie from Golftown at a discount and they could bend them 2 degrees.

However, I am wondering if there is any advantage to purchasing them custom so that I receive the clubs made from the factory with the lie angle I need.  i.e. will having the irons bent affect their durability/ability to hold the lie angle?

Also, is it ok to have them adjusted at Golftown or should this be done by Titleist?

I figure it is worth spending a bit extra if this will make a difference but not if they end result will be identical.

Hi,  There is no upcharge for ordering custom clubs with a different lie, length or loft.  We would recommend having us do the bending for you at the time of order as it also preserves the warranty.

Be sure to be fitted, I was back in the spring ordered custom irons standard woods. All I can say is that my game has never been as good what a difference.

By the way, Cathi never got the chance to thank you for your help in replacing my missing torque wrench for my driver and the little surprise that came with it. You are awesome as is all TT staff but wanted you to feel the love Bubba seems to get it all but so far your my favorite LOL then again your the only one I have received the titleist Love from.

    Cathi:

I have AP1 714 irons and have been fitted that I need 1/2 degree flat. You mention that it is best to send the irons to Titleist to get the lie bent...I couldn't find an address in Canada. Is it the National Fitting Centre?

    Thanks.
