AP2 shaft question

  1. I am looking at getting Titleist AP2 irons.  I tend to hit the ball too high and sometimes balloon with my irons.  Which shaft will help prevent ballooning? The shaft programs say Project x 6.0 would fit my trajectory needs and fit my swing speed.  Would the Project X hit lower or the Dynamic gold S300?  I hit a 7 iron 170-175 yards.

  2. no shaft prevents ballooning. Its your swing. Play a shaft that feels good, gives you confidence. Too many players look for the magic solution to fix their issues of ball flight. Take a few lessons instead of looking for a shaft to fix your issues. its money well spent rather than buying new shafts. I play the S400 and it feels great. I played Project X and KBS but both are harsh to me. The S400 feels smooth and transitions well. A few lesson shaved 3 strokes off my HDCP and now I can play any shaft.

I purchased a set of 714 AP2s with KBS Tour S shafts in November 2013. Recently, I have been hitting the C-Taper Lite 115g at Golfsmith and I really like the feel and look of these shafts. My numbers on the launch monitor (I think that's what it is..I am not familiar with the differences between launch monitor, trackman, flightscope, etc.) are very good, for me, and better than what I get on the course. However, there was about 10 yard average difference between the two monitors I used at Golfsmith with the same club on the same day....so I am skeptical of the monitors accuracy as I can't imagine my swing changed that much by walking 10 feet over to next stall. What I want to know is can I send back the AP2s to Titleist and have the C-Taper Lites put on my existing set? Sorry if this is a ridiculous question....I've never been big on changing my equipment, but would love to make the switch if I can. I would also purchase a new PW and 8 iron as the grooves are wearing. Can someone let me know if this is possible? Thanks for your time.
