Has anyone experienced a fitting with the traveling Titleist fitting events?  The closest event to me will be in San Antonio next week at a Golfsmith and I am thinking it may be worth the 3.5 hr drive. Do I need to sign up ahead of time?  How involved is the fitting process vs. other options?  Do they do golf ball fittings as well?  Is there a charge?  Thanks TT!  Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I know in the past I've had to call and schedule a time at the location (Golfsmith) it's being held at.  I've never called Titleist directly.  What they'll do is provide you a time to be there and usually they (Titleist fitters) give you a 1/2 hour or an hour with them.

As for fitting, i've never been to one where they've done both clubs and balls.  It all depends on what van shows up.  I'm pretty sure Golfsmith will tell you that.

I know for club fittings, they are VERY prepared.  They'll have every tool there to make sure you walk away with the right club in your hand.  I've never been fitted for a golf ball but i can't imagine being any different.

I've never been charged when i went.   However if you went to Oceanside and Manchester Lane you'll be charged.

The only thing I would be worried about is, are they fitting inside or outside?  I would much rather be fitted outside so i can see the actual ball flight, etc.

Either way I would HIGHLY recommend getting fitted by Titleist if you're looking to get some new clubs.

    Mando,

I did a Titleist Golf Ball Fitting.  Very interesting how they let me hit different balls.  I started out using what I normally hit and then they work me to a Titleist golf ball.  They showed me all the numbers.  Spin rate, angle of launch, ball speed.  Then they gave me the recommendation of what golf ball works best for me.  I have not had a golf club Titleist fitting.

I went to a fitting day last year.  I really liked it and it was nice to see exactly what I was doing.  Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating so it wasn't ideal.  It also wasn't as comprehensive as I had hoped.  The rep looked at my numbers and what I was doing and made suggestions, but he was limited on what he brought with him, so I wasn't able to try different combos until I got the right one.  It was more of "well, you're doing this with this club, so you should be perfect with this shaft."  I still had a blast and I'm glad I went.  But, I don't think it would be worth a 3 1/2 hour drive.  I drove about an hour and I think that would be about the max for me.  It probably all depends on who shows up and how much equipment they have with them.

Just got fitted today in Broken Arrow Oklahoma and it was amazing. I learned more today about what I should be using in my bag than I have on my own I forty years of playing golf. They went thru driver to wedges. You will learn so much about the set make up for you and all the necessary launch angles attack angle ball spin etc. It is so worth the drive I wish I had done it long ago. You won't be disappointed. Yes they will fit you with the proper ball for your game as well. Not sure about the charge as I went thru my club. You won't regret the experience! Go for it!!
