I am very interested in upgrading my 915 Driver, Fairway, and Hybrid to custom shafts. Would greatly appreciate some insight on the differences between Tour AD DI and Aldila Rogue Black. If anyone has any experience in hitting either of these shafts, please let me know. Are the extra costs truly worth upgrading? (I understand there's many factors to be considered, i.e. clubhead speed, launch angle, how often one plays, etc.). However, which shaft is preferred? Thank you.

    Both are great shafts!

In my experience, Aldila guys tend to always prefer the feel of the Aldila shafts over anything else.  Not saying the Tour AD doesn't feel great... just the Aldila guys like the genuinely softer feel.

Pound for pound, the Rogue black may spin/launch a smidge higher.

I've seen great quality and consistency out of both shafts.  Graphite Design is definitely known for consistent performance.

Both shafts are expensive and I'm sure you are aware of this. If you're in a position not to be concerned about price, then buying a $300 shaft like the Graphite Design would be very interesting. I would like to hear some of your feedback regarding this shaft. Although, I am sceptical if these shafts can work miracles. I am of the belief, if you hit 250 with your current shaft, you will probably hit 250 with the GD as well. Having a boutique shaft will not change your swing characteristics or current swing abilities.

Same thing, I was thinking about getting an Tour AD shaft for my 915. I'm not a big fan of the Rogue Black.

    G'day Sean,

I went from a Tour AD DI to an Aldila rogue silver the stock offering at 110 msi not the tour 125 msi.

I had every intention to keep the AD DI or go to 125 msi rogue but after a fitting and seeing the ball flight the standard rogue wins hands down, the best thing you can do is head to a Titleist fitting day or a Titleist fitter that has the larger fitting bag (more shaft/head options).

It will depend on your swing and there is many factors in that so before dropping big money I could not recommend a fitting enough!

    Good Luck!

I have both the DI 6S & Rogue Black 70g S in my 915D3.  The DI is longer, but the Black is a tad shorter and tighter, via Trackman.  I haven't re-checked it since tipping my DI6 to Titleist standards, 1/2".  I have tried the DI 7S and seems similar to the Black I have.  I did like the feel of both, just difference, hence why I tried the DI 7S.  Good luck!
